out of the zt line id prefer the 0200. the 0350's blade is too small. ive never liked the 550. the blade is too thick. if i want a cutter i want it to slice well. if i want to smash something then ill use a brick. the 0300 is too much money. have you seen the 2012 kershaw hinderer designs? pretty cool if you like the 550

@PavlovSandor I haven't had a chance to check out the 0200 yet, but I suspect that will happen sooner than later. I agree, the 0550 is not that great of a slicer. I haven't handled a real Hinderer yet, but if the 0550 is anything like his work I'm definitely getting an XM18 or something eventually! Nice Dan! I've been waiting for you to put out this review. It's awesome no? One question, you said that the liner side was stainless steel. Do you know that for sure? Is the 0551 different? I heard it was titanium both on the framelock and on the liner. Maybe just for the 0551? One of the pictures on your website definitely made the liner look more like SS though compared to the color of the titanium. This knife is a definite keeper. What's next on the list?

@pyaoliang Pat I'm not 100% sure what the material is, it looks like SS but I could always be wrong. I looked on the ZT website and it didn't say anything, I think I'll have to email KAI and see whats up. I'm definitely keeping this one! I need to re-do my CardSharp 2 review next, but then I've got the Vox BOB, the HEST Folder and a S30V Buck vantage. And I've got a few other blades here that need some reviewin!

great review dan. i have the elmax version of this knife (0551) it is currently the best zt knife imo. i wish it were an ounce ligher but i can live with the weight. i can't wait to get my hands on the 0560 coming out very soon (another great hinderer collaboration).

@defenseandsafety Oh yeah! I am DEFINITELY getting one of the 0560's too. My understanding that the 0560 is supposed to be a little lighter. I absolutely love this 0550 though. S30VN has a a lower carbon count than the S30V so that's interesting.

It also has Niobium in that steel which is used in the superconducting magnets in MRI scanners. Interesting choice of steel..

Besides that, i love the blade.Very handsome.

I really don't have much to compare it with, but the steel has held up fine for my use. I'll continue to test and evaluate it. Thanks so much for stopping by man.
