  • Our school is putting on this play soon

  • wow I love how my comment us the last one

  • you know what I'm a 15 year old kid and I can't stand all the assholes on here saying that all she wants is shitty things. I think we are all so spoiled with 60" tv and ps3 and xboxes which I hate. I think it's great that she wants these things. I think the 1950s were the greatest thing ever. so all you spoiled brats out there screw you.

  • her voice is so odd

  • Man , that toaster is her pride and joy . Lol

  • No one can know of our love, toaster!

  • i love when she caresses the toaster

  • Actually, I love Family Guy and all, but I think it's rather sad that so many people can't enjoy it out of that context. Is it really that much of a mental effort? But then again, FG obviously speaks to the people who already are familiar with the source material, so it probably doesn't matter, the others were lost anyway ...

  • Am i the only one who finds this song really heartbreaking/ rather hilerious? How small, slightly rubbisg and simple her dreams are and how much she really wants such slightly crappy things.

Also the ending in the actual play where she sings it again make me laugh so much. Get it? "Somewhere thats green"? Eaten by a plant?

  • @scrumpmonkey thats kind of the point. when you live on skid row your lucky if you have any dreams left.

  • @scrumpmonkey

This song just kind of makes me sad... Because it just makes me think of how much she loves Seymour and how they don't end up together in the stage version of the musical... :'( The one reason I DON'T like Audrey II. I like him otherwise.

  • Am I the only one that saw the dark lump on the lawn?

  • Love the movie and the clip. However, the "Lucy" clips are out of sequence.

  • This is my cheer up song. :)

  • Why is it that Seymour and Audrey look like they were about to enjoy tv dinners, but the kids didn't have any food in front of them? I suppose they could have eaten first, but I thought they would have all eaten at the same time, even if they weren't all sitting by each other.

  • My high school is doing little shop and the teacher wants the girls to audition with this song

  • family guy ohhhhhhhh i get it now as many times as i watched this i never made the connection.

  • Every time i watch this all I THINK ABOUT IS FAMILY VERSION

  • The son grew up to be Sylar.

  • I'm so excited! My Chorus gets to sing with Ellen Greene in December for our holiday concert, called Red and Greene!

  • My older brother used to always watch this when I was a little kid (4-5 years old). Now I'm 16 and just remembered it and I'm going back to watch it. It's weird to kinda know the movie, but just now understand what's going on haha.

  • I just found out I'm going to get Audrey in my HS's production of this!! Think I'm gonna cry :'D

  • Aunt Lily!!!

  • Toaster!!!

  • 2:13

    Yes...that is a toaster

  • pinesol is in my dreams too

  • one of MY FAVORITE songs from a musical!!!

    I LOVE Little Shop !!!

  • I love their "big enormous 12 inch screen." :D

  • i remember when our school did little shop of horrors in welsh. it was epic. the kid acting seymour looked like harry potter.

ar ynrhyw dro, bell o skid row, rhywle sy'n wyrdd...

  • e-e I'm afraid of her voice........ it haunts me in my worst nightmares....... *goes to corner in fetal position saying "it's not real, it's not real, you're okay cause it's not real"* e-e

  • yay dona reed

  • Thumbs up if Family Guy and Little Shop brought you here

  • "I cook like Betty Crocker" when did Betty Crocker ever make frozen tv dinners

  • @Xepher2010Returns Were you alive in the 50's? What are you 12?

  • @RobHinant 19 :3

  • @Xepher2010Returns

I know! I think thats supposed to make us laugh. lol xD

  • family guy killed it lol

  • @jpmoneyify That all depends on what kind of "Killed" you mean.In a good way or bad way? Take in mind that Family Guy is good at everything they do or sing not saying this is a bad song.

  • God bless 1950s America!

  • "On our big enormous twelve inch screen."

  • Speak up i can't hear you!

  • thumbs up for tuppa ware partys

  • thumb up if family guy send you here!

  • 2:12 is every reason why I love this song.

Not surprising that this was written by the same genius who birthed Part Of Your World and Belle.

  • I get the Betty Crocker Reference but what's with the 'Look like Dawn Marie' line? I guess it's an American thing but who is she & Why woyuld she want to look like her?

  • @mrmjday I think she's says donna reed,the actress.

  • @luftful951 yeah i just googled her and she's really pretty! apparentlly she died the same year this movie came out.

  • She's actually saying Donna Reed, but it sounds bad with the audio and her singing style. In case anyone doesn't know, Donna Reed was the star of It's A Wonderful Life alongside Jimmy Stuart and had a wholesome, 'family' style sitcom in the 50's called The Donna Reed Show.

  • love this movie and this song!

  • how come she has such a lispish 'Showwy Mishter Mushnick' voice and such a pretty singing voice? My sister's funniest line: Mr Mushnick stole my sellotape.

  • Thumbs up if you heard Herbert sing this on Family Guy first, then you heard it from where it originally came from and then you found out that it was first from Little Shop of Horrors!!!!

  • Good song and great performance but DAMN, now everything that comes to my mind when i hear this song is that old pedophile from Family Guy.

    ewww...

  • 2:12 TOASTER :O

  • this song is ok i like a bit of green myself......

  • my high school put on a play and they did this one..IT WAS FUCKING FANTASTIC!!!!!!

  • I LOVE her lisp...

  • I feel like I want to punch this character. :P I smash her face with a frying pan.

  • I cook like betty crocker, and then the frozen dinners? LOL

  • @laurarox80 I know, right? Seems like kind of a waste of a skill. Its kind of like saying "I play like...Jimi Hendrix, but I use a tambouriiiine".

  • ok me and friend were bored and were look at netflix on xbox and saw this moive and last time i wacthed i was 5 so we got to this part and start laughing becuse he sing this song all time becuse of herbert on family guy we had no idea this song was in this moive

  • Somewhere that's Ellen Greene.

HA! See what I did there?

  • wow I didn't watch this movie until yesterday & I FINALLY understand that episode of family guy haha

    but I LOVE this movie:)

  • Herbert The pervert And chris!!!!

  • I love this

  • whats the point of her voice being so high piched???

    lol

  • Ellen is sooo amazing! I love her!

  • lol, TUPPERWARE PARTY! xD

  • this is so adorable. it's like you forget the so-called "important" big things in life and just feel her joy.

  • Anyone else think of Herbert?

  • Aw, Audrey wants to live at Disneyworld.

  • 14 people will never be somewhere that's green

  • I love how they have separate single beds. Mega... lol.

  • if anyone, and i mean ANYONE, touches this movie and changes it, well... they'd look like plant food to me. can't some things just stay sacred?

  • @lookinforadream

My friend, I feel the exact same way.

  • @lookinforadream

well, the stage production came first so in my opinion, a reproduction is fair game, since this isn't the original. However, it would be hard to hold a candle the Steve Martin, Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene, and Levi Stubbs,

  • @owenlou1687 "well, the stage production came first so in my opinion . . ."

Actually, the 1960 Roger Corman film came first.

  • @patrickmorrisberry Yes, with Jack Nicholson, but I meant the staged musical production, since the previous comment was referring to a remake of the musical version of the movie. In a sense that makes it quite a difference. All technicality of course.

  • This reminds me of a Family Guy episode

  • I love Alan Menken and Howard Ashman. I love Ellen Greene. And I love this movie.

  • sorry for all for all the fans of this movie, but haha family guy

  • This is one of mii favorite movies ever !! Lol it was hilarious when herbert from family guy did this scene-3

  • The life i'd love for me and my marine =/

  • Her lisp is so cute,I love this song. 13 people are going to get eaten by a man eating plant.

  • Ellen might actually be the most beautiful woman ever.

Except for regina spektor- that girl is absolutely spektacular.

    Love; Birdie

  • 13 people have the worst taste in musicals EVER!!!!!!

  • Big enormous 12" screen. I wish times were so simple again.

  • i like the family guy version

  • @Koneko716 Lol, thats why I came here.

  • @Koneko716 hahaha, yes I like the family guy version too. Chris Griffin doesn't know what's in store for him. Good comment

  • OMG!! Mr. Herbert sung this song about Chris on Family Guy!! Love it!! lol

  • 13 people don't look like Donna Reed

  • @themoosenshow nah i'm pretty sure that 13 people just don't like this video

  • Is it just me, or does the girl sound like Harley Quinn?

  • @joethehero2

well someone made a skit of Harley Quinn making her own redintion of the song at the Comic -Con

  • Has anyone noticed how similar this is to "Part of That World" from the Little Mermaid? Same composers Howard Ashman and Allen Menkin.

  • Somewhere thats green

    ellen green

mean green mother I just noticed how they play on the word green.

  • @panda374 "Somewhere That's Green" makes more sense in the original ending when (spoiler alert) she dies and gets fed to the plant so she can actually be "somewhere that's green."

  • I could see Tim Burton try to remake this film....

  • @Yourmomisnthere he would ruin it.

  • @Yourmomisnthere you read my mind. and he wouldnt ruin it, he'd make it like...not more kickass but ALMOST equally kickass.

  • @Yourmomisnthere Lets call him up and tell him to do it :]

  • @Yourmomisnthere and i can see it sucking majorly. 1 remake is enough

  • @Yourmomisnthere I would have to kill him if he touched this movie.

I love him, but after what he did to Alice in Wonderland, I just don't trust him with remakes anymore. He needs to do his own movies again. FFS

  • I watched this movie when i was a kid, it was good then, and its good now :D

  • This song made me glad they used the second ending instead of the original. The songs made me care about Seymour and Audrey and I would have been dissapointed if they weren't alive for their dream to come true. I just wish they had that ending in the stage version, then I would wanna go see it.

  • @bart11114 While I love this movie and don't mind its ending one bit, the play makes Seymour a lot more guilty of murder than the movie does, which makes it less sad when he and Audrey get eaten. Plus, they get to come back in the end as plant zombies/flowers! XD Bottom line: see the play. You'll like it.

  • everyone dosent like her voice, but i think its absoulutley adorable! :D

  • I love how simple and innocent her dream is...

  • I bawl my eyes out everytime I hear this song...

  • I got the part of Audrey in my school! I heard today and I'm so thrilled. But I don't have the perfect singing voice. Could anyone suggest any helpful tips?

  • @IssyKnowsYourSecrets

Congrats! <3 If I was to give any tips, I'd say learn your songs and sing them loud and proud and enjoy yourself! If you're enjoying it, even if you aren't perfect, the audience sees that and loves it anyway. (:

  • @Shayreep Aww thank you. I'll try not to be too nervous to enjoy it then :L

  • Tupperware sales person ftw! ^_^

  • I love how simple her dreams are, most people want to be like super rich and lil Audrey just wants a nice home with a garbage disposal.

I love love love her dress in her little fantasy world :]

  • @RoxasLight2 Its the basic American dream well from the 40s XD

  • @RoxasLight2 I agree. It makes me appreciate the smaller things. =)

  • @RoxasLight2 well she just wants to live a simple life that isnt exciting because of all the crap happening in skid row

  • Me and Audrey have the same dream.

  • @KHearts16 Umm, no offense to you, but this musical is satirical...the dream is being made fun of

  • @KHearts16 Likewise!

  • OMG,i was only singing this yesterday, cant believe i have found it on you tube, made my day, watchin em all now while i have still got computer control!!!

  • I always thought Audrey was beautiful.

  • Tbh this is my dream except all of that sweet house :)

  • herbert from family guy ! :D :D :D

  • My favorite part of this scene is the little badly-animated cartoon pink bird fluttering around her hand. xD

  • Holy Ellen Greene!

I'd kinda wanted to see this before I knew she was in it, because I love musicals (and giant scary plants ;D), but after re-hearing her sing on Pushing Daisies, I looked up Ellen's other roles and just HAD to hear this.

    She's so incredible<3

  • @StillxIxDream ahe is amazing<3 I saw this, THEN pushing dasies, but for some reason didn't recognise it was the same person until one of my friends pointed it out to me lol. She is trulty fabulous<3

  • @StillxIxDream holyshit I thought she was in Pushing Daisies.

  • I can imagine Seymour, with his love of plants, getting his degree in Botany and having a good job and living a wonderful middle-class life with Audrey.

  • I love this part of the movie. they make a nice couple

  • Wow her voice Is horrible

  • that's my dream too

  • @dliu84 i think thats everyones dream, unfortunetley that does not exsist....

  • That is my dream home!

  • This is a very nice and sweet little clip from the movie. Thanks for posting!

  • I watched this movie in my highschool music class today. I love this movie and I've seen it quite a few times but i was baffled by the amount of people who were like "hey this movie ripped off family guy!"

I was glad they all agreed with me on one thing though, Ellen Greene is a great singer.

  • @BURNOUTRS

Those are the same people who think Madonna brought us "By, by Miss American Pie..."

  • @BURNOUTRS This is only a good movie with the original ending. Otherwise, it ends with Seymour getting away with murder.

  • @ExclusiveCheese What is the original ending?

  • @lalahahajkjklol the plant wins. Everyone gets eaten... but the test audience complained.

  • @awbananna oh haha stupid audience! And the movie ending was when it got electrocuted?

  • @ExclusiveCheeseIdk, IDK, in the happy ending, Seymour takes responsibility for the evil he created by destroying it in the end, and considering there is a tiny Audrey ll plant in the last shot, he may still face repercussions. That's why I think both endings work in their own settings. The musical ending works on stage, and the movie ending works in the movie.

  • @BURNOUTRS what scene did family rip of from this movie? and agreed ellen greene is a great singer and actress

  • "Real chain link fence" ? there's something like fake chain link fence?

I love how the house is so clearly card-board cut out, it fits with the fantasy. And I suspect that Joss Whedon might have gottin some inspiration here for the "I'm the Missis" song in "Once More With Feeling". It's so saccharine sweet you don't know wether to laugh or cry.

  • @RabiaB The plastic, cardboard cutout that was 50's suburbia. You could interpret it both as a parody and the fact that Audrey wants what everybody wanted in the 50's

  • @sirmercutio99

I take it as a parody. And I just love how they got the mix just perfect between it looking real enough and still like a magnified Barbie house fresh out of the box. All the optics of the movie are so glorious: the changing outfit of the three girl chours, the shabby way stuff in Skid Row looks, Audrey's outfits and of course Audrey II in all her evil carnivorous glory. I know the happy ending is traditionally bashed as being to easy but I think Audrey deserved it.

  • @RabiaB I like the "happy" ending. I love this song, cause like Audrey even I wouldn't mind my own home in suburbia. (I live in a modern skid row)

  • @sirmercutio99

I like the happy ending, too. It's often accused of "rewarding" Seymour for killing people. But the sad ending punishes Audrey for... well, for what exactly?

I think Audrey's suburbia dream might look silly to people who always lived in nice, safe places. Just a few years with a bad janitor, horrible neighbours or useless landlords and suddenly it doesn't look so silly, it looks safe and peaceful.

  • @RabiaB and that's why I love it. I love in a shitty complex that's basically skid row in the suburbs.

  • @RabiaB I think Audrey's undeserved death is crucial to what the original ending conveyed. The story is saying that Seymour's corrption had the potential to hurt ANYONE including the innocent! But I have an understanding toward the new ending. The new ending basically conveyed that you have to take responsiblity for the conflict while it exist and you might just suceed and prevent chaos. Still the old ending conveys the message much clearer: atonement becomes furtile when the deeds are done

  • @AliaSparrow I totally love you for this comment. Finally, someone who understands the positive side to BOTH endings!

  • @RabiaB and "Suddenly Semour" as well. I love when she starts belting it out, my heart flutters. Did she ever do an albulm?

  • Comment removed

  • watch the herbert the pervert version.

  • this is one of the best songs from any recent musical.

    i love ellen greene !!

  • Neat how she comes across as ditzy and genuine.

  • Ellen Greene is amazing! She's pure Brookyn yet she has a sweet voice!

  • Wow it doesn't take much to make her happy, does it?

Probably looking through an Argos catalogue would be the high point of her day.

  • I hate her voice so much its so high and squeaky

  • I think that's kinda the point of the character. She is supposed to be very innocent and vulnerable.

  • I watched this movie last night and I couldn't help but laugh durning this whole part because I thought about Herbert from Family Guy singing it!

  • this lady has some pipes on her!

  • OMG! I just saw the remake on Family Guy...too funny!!!!!

  • i just watched this on family guy

  • You know what's demented? *Spoilers*

In the Broadway versions, the Seymoor dies at the hands of Audrey II. He certainly ended up "somewhere that's green.'

  • Yeah, I'm kinda glad they didn't use the original broadway ending here. It would've fit. In the broadway Seymore turns more and more evil with each killing. So he really deserves his end. But in the movie, he's nice and goofy.

  • Oh, she's so cute! And I don't care what anyone says--I love her singing!

  • you may call me a softy but i feel realy sorry for aurdrey this song almost makes me cry !x im doing this song for my music exam!

  • heeyya guys, check out the vid Somewhere That's Green-Shayla Nolan. thiss girls got maaddddd talennt

  • Family Guy ripped this off almost shot for shot.

  • @Pwnisher248 Ripped off or actually HOMAGED it? Know the difference.

  • I know! that was histarcical! I love Family guy!

  • To me, this movie is better than Wicked, Fame, bla bla bla! I love this, throught that's old! I'm doing this play in school and i sooooooo hope i get in!

  • big enourmous 12 inch screen lol
