  • Perfection

  • pitch perfect, best comedienne ever and naturally gifted without cue cards and autoune. REAL talent such as hers doesn't really exist anymore.

  • She was a GREAT Fred, and also a GREAT queen in the 2005 television version...is there anything Carol can't do? :P

  • carol burnett has the perfect voice for the role of princess winifred. you can tell that she is thoroughly enjoying herself. she does a great job!

  • that dance move at 3:05 is SO epic!!!!

  • @HouseAddict8240 I got a major laugh out of everytime everyone else leans back from her every time she goes up for the belt on the "shy" or "try". It's hilarious. Semi-subtle visual humor. ;-)

  • @HouseAddict8240 I loved the little "conga" break right before that too! ;-)

  • CAROL BURNETT IS AMAZING.

  • i just played fred in my schools performance tonight... but i couldnt touch carol burnetts talent. shes insane:)

  • Soooo excited this is one of my fav musicals and I just got cast as Fred at my school, its my first lead role too:)!!!!!

  • @NYCprincess7 Same here! My college is doing this in the spring! When I first listened to this soundtrack, I thought the songs were relatively simple, but now looking at the sheet music and tackling this song... it's proving to be an interesting and fun challenge! Hoorah for Freds!

  • Dear Spartakos, No! That is not character actor Norman Fell playing"Prince Dauntless The Drab"in the 1964 CBS TV version of "Once Upon A Matress!". That is former Cleveland,Ohio and NYC kids tv host/performer "Uncle Joe"Bova.

  • Because of this musical, everytime someone asks me something that I must answer in a negative, I always embellish it with a

    "hey nonny nonny nonny noooo"

  • I LOVE THIS!!

  • Norman Fell as Prince Dauntless!

  • Hey! Great sound, but not best vid quality. I have to sing this for an audition for school tryouts.

  • AMAZING

  • 1.This is an awesome song.

    2.I need this song at present,because I'm shy,too.

  • This is definitely my favorite version. I don't think anyone could really ever beat her in this song.

  • I miss the days of musicals like this. She is quite amazing.

  • how did you get this?

  • This is so brilliant and perfect. It brought a tear to my eye for the sheer glory of it.

  • OMG hahaha beautiful haha

  • Carol is amazing! I love the "horribly" lol! I always thought she did great with Miss Hannigan in Annie

  • The IS a huge Broadway star...she has actually been in a lot of shows

and you can see why...SHE IS AWESOME

  • BRAVO

  • I love where she sings, "Horribly shy". Wonderful voice control.

She's really a star. I bet she hated doing the Disney version though, they butchered the score. Kinda funny that she ended up being the queen.

  • holy cow, the choreography on this one rocks!

  • LOL SHES SHY?

  • Gawd, she's been in every version of this show, now hasn't she? XD

  • Was she in the 1997 version? I think it had Sarah Jessica parker.

  • regretfully, it was Sarah, I saw it. Gawd awful!

  • That was great. Thanks for posting it. I paid way too much for an unwatchable copy of a copy of a copy of Once Upon a Mattress on EBay. It's nice to be actually able to "see" it here!

  • yeah, she did this musical on broadway for a while. it was her big break. (paired with the garry moore show) she has also been in a lot of other plays.

  • such a talented lady. I grew up watching her show. It appears to me that she could have easily been a huge broadway star. she definitely had the pipes for it. did she ever appear on broadway? forgive me for my ignorance. I only know her from her famous weekly show.
