Hey man, Please help me. Whenever I turn on the DX10 preview mode, the Anti Aliasing doesn't seem to work. I have DX11 graphics card and Windows 7 Ultimate.

That is definitely not 12 FPS, that's mid 30's.  24.5 is where the eye turns fast pictures into video, and that looks much smoother than 24.5.

@drbackjack Same here, though DX10 mode looks nicer, I have a lot of issues with it like flickering taxi lines and runways. Even though I also gain a bit more frames on DX10 mode, it's not consistent and it jumps all over the place even with the limiter set to say, 30FPS. What I found is best for this sim is to tweak your fsx.cfg file as needed (there tons of tutorials on how to do this), set the frame rate to unlimited and then use an external FPS limiter. Works absolutely brilliant.

Not much difference to me.... I play farcry2 with DX9 rather than DX10 cos it changes too much fps so I think its only "the little extra" to graphics if you are playing games with very good pc

Other than the water effects and the shadowing in the virtual cockpit, I see little difference. My biggest problem with DX10 being activated though is that the runway lines and taxi way lines flicker in and out of view in various places so I have to leave it disabled. :(

DX10 add's the smallest extra bit such as better looking glare off the water. The power of Transform and lighting is soo awesome today. But if you get better FSP on DX9, by all means, stick with it.

@r4microds i disagree, if you are buying a new graphics card with directx10, i recomend making sure it has 10.1, diffrence being the updated version fixes all the bugs in the orignal DX10, increasing the fps

Old graphics cards handle DX9 VERY well. For us with the new ones (I have a GTS295), I'm getting about 7 fps in DX9, when, in the same place, I get 30 with DX10. I'm not exaggerating the difference at all. Problem is, DX10 doesn't render freeware textures correctly.

In dx 9 to get hdr a glow is added around the edges of objects making them look fuzzy.

In DX 10 all object surfaces emit HDR light and can have full bump mapping as well as a texture that can change the objects surface from smooth to lumpy imagine a man turning to stone. DX 10 can make volumetric gas instead of a cloud texture stuck on a polygon. Check out Anno 1404 Venice Tornado & Volcano.

FSX will only shine when you add something called "Multi Crew Experience" to the mix.

Total voice control for FSX and FS9, that works with almost any aircraft!

@gilibrasil Well the motion effects are quite detailed in DX10 compared to 9, look closely at the prop of the P-51 on DX10 and then on DX9, noticeable difference, and with DX 10 the cockpit self shadowing is much more detailed showing the sections of the planes shell shadowing it instead of just darkness coming over it.

As far as I saw, the only difference between DX 9 & DX 10 is in bump mapping & maybe particles, and thats it!! So, maybe there is some difference in calculation times or smthing, but not more...like some fake comparison videos where they show a total difference of dx9 & dx10, by replaceing textures of object, LOL

There is a nice subtle differance. Remeber though, your results will vary since you probably have a different GFX card. I can run with DX10 on, bloom and flair off. But my drivers are causing issues with the runways tearing. Im h
