  • LuckyDate and Boyinaband are two completely different tutorial techniques, each having their own pros and cons of instruction. What you could learn from LuckyDate you might not learn from Boyinaband and vise versa. I subbed them both to broaden my education of Reason. The jackass that said "Boyinaband is better than LuckyDate" is a fucking asshole. Beggers cant be choosers.

  • well done..thx...yea, make more videos

  • he meant polyphonic at :44 not polysonic.

  • @workshop319

No, he meant polysonic. That's the name of the synth.

  • Amazing. Thank you! Please do make more videos. :)

  • THANK YOU. VERY HELPFUL

  • I correct myself... Although what I said was correct, the name of the thor plugin indicates a play on words by saying "polysonic"

  • Not to be a troll, but it's pronounced "pol-ee-fon-ick" (and "pole-if-an-ee") meaning non-monophonic, or multiple notes at the same time. Jussayin'.

Thanks for yet another awesome tip!!

  • Hi I've been looking at a lot of videos but none of them show how to make a downwards sweep like the one in 'party rock anthem' by LMFAO or 'the time' by the Black Eyed Peas. It's a really cool effect and if anybody know I would appreciate if you could tell me, thank you.

  • HOTASSBEATCLAP

  • are you on itunes?

  • you should tidy up your desktop ^^ nice vid thanks

  • Lucky Date Makes Better Videos. I Trust These More Because Its Lucky Fucking Date.

  • thanks

  • Polysonic Synthesizer? NO NO NO, POLYPHONIC, meaning being able to strike more than 1 key at a time! lol

  • @MindphaseProductions Thor Polyphonic Synthesizer? NO NO NO, POLYSONIC, as in that's the name of the synthesizer, its called THOR POLYSONIC SYNTHESIZER. He wasn't talking about the synth's texture.

  • @puerkasso oh.

  • @puerkasso no way. Disagree.

  • hi, just watched this and saw you are using mouse/pointer to select tools.

shortcut = use QWERTY keys to select the different tools.

    Q = arrow

    W = pencil

    :-D

  • great tutorial, thanks for the tips, but one tip for you, i couldn't but noitice how much work your making with your mouse, it woudl kill me, all you have to do for a keyboard shortcut is cntrl and that changes your pencil to arrow or arrow to pencil, without bouncing between which is a alot of wrk!

  • can I programme the res and freq to the mod wheel and just automate that?

  • @d240786 Yes! :)

  • What do you use to master your tracks? Do you master them within reason itself or run them through hardware?

  • such a big big help. its basic stuff but from going from fruity loops 5 to reason 4 theres alot of little tricks to pick up. youre giving me answers to the most simple things, cheers mate :)

  • thanks dude

  • Boyinaband is the shit, but dude video was helpful

  • Your a legend for showing us this. Next time, PLAY THE SONG so we can hear it as you go along!

  • sound better if u start the res it the top n put the end down

  • Wow. Im so glad electronic music production isnt like a secret order where revealing secrets like this can get you "in trouble". Thank you for these videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thanks man

  • thx ALOT!!

  • thanx bro, that was really helpfull...

  • omg man thank you for such help! I was all confused about it. I use to use fruity loops, but then I recently got Reason 4.0. Can you make a bassline tutorial? Much Appreciated! (Reply Back!)

  • is it just me or is Thor a rather complicated synthesizer?

  • Bought the electro 1 & 2 bundle from you a couple of days ago, amazing sounds! :))

If you have more stuff for sale plz let me know! Is it possible to get the midi from the example file (since its locked)?

  • Saved my life. I was completely lost when it came to sweeps. Thanks so much, man.

  • hummm it would be good to have a tutorial on the deadmau5 -the reward is cheese synth

  • thank you :3

  • @fizzyr12

u should also look up a guy named loki1200, he has sum really amazing dub wobble tuts.

  • ive heard of him yeah he has some sik ass wobbles tuts but i use fl9 now cuz i cant a dirty enough wobble on reason i use NI massive thats got some shit load of dirty ass bass

  • Thanks again great tut as usual. Clean up your desktop!!

  • Did you say "Raper wind"? haha

  • RAVER. RAVER, MAN. RAVER.

    :)

    d(-_-)b

  • Hey, How can i use this in Pro Tools?

like how to Rewire it, and Record it?

  • If pro tools has rewire you can.

  • Switching between drawing and selecting can also be done otherwise: Make sure the selectoricon is enabled. To draw, press ALT (windows) and click with your mouse. When you press ALT you will see the icon change from selector to pencil.

Maybe you knew this, but i saw you struggeling a bit ;) Nice vid again. Thanks for sharing!

  • wonderful tutorial! This was the exact sound I was looking for. I've been trying variations.

  • Thank You so much for making these videos!!

  • I agree that boyinaband is a much better instructor and and has a much wider knowledge of Reason. My videos are much less of teaching aids, what I am doing is sharing some secrets that have helped improve my music, I do this for free and have no incentive other than to provide people with information that I could not find when I was first starting out.

  • hell yeah bro and for that i thank you so much... mandow can suck a fat choad, i subscribed to you earlier. i just ordered an apc 40 too sen!! yeaaa!!! give me a shout out

  • nice!!! been trying to get my hands on a apc for awhile, lemme know how it goes!

  • oh i shall... i shall do just that.. ey man coincidence.. even better.. im seeing deadmau5 tonight!!! youll be hearing more from me man.. im diving into this shit hard.

  • glad to hear it! enjoy mr. mau5!

  • @luckydatevideos is quite sick tho whereas the boy in a band guy is an ultimate nerd and very irritating to listen to

  • @luckydatevideos BIAB is a good instuctor for strict beginners IMO. So thanks a lot Luckydate for the tips and tricks ! Also you make better music ;-)

Oh and the more tuts we have on the web the ebtter it is, so BIAB, you Hydlide etc... all good to me !

  • @luckydatevideos I think you're sounds are more professional sounding than biab.

  • @luckydatevideos Boy in a band is dust compared to you. His stuff is corny and you cant make good music with it, the things you make are much easier to create a dope track with. Keep up the sick work my dude.

  • @luckydatevideos he's a good instructor as well, but yours are short, and easy to follow. I'm a beginner with a lot of musical talent but no idea how to work any program. Thank you so much for making these, I subbed right away.

  • @luckydatevideos you're better than boyinaband. Your music is catchier and better in my opinion..... and you're not an annoying long haired nerd

  • @luckydatevideos In my opinion your tutorials are better and are better explained and the end result is a more professional sound compared to boyinaband whos end result is a let down, its something you would hear on a sega megadrive game...plus he's bound to know more he's a BETA for reason..your not and do a better job than him..he does a 7 day song thing where he creates a song in 7 days....i think when or if you get time you should do the same, youd help me and thousand others out.

  • mandow you're a right chief.

  • @Mandow boyinaband tries too hard to be funny, plus he over eqs everything. hydlide24 is the only person with videos really worth watching.

  • @Mandow - suck a fat dick troll.

  • thanks man did kno how to make it for a long time i didnt even kno how they call it thx!

  • you've done it again....thanx for the info.

  • you can hold alt (in windows, not sure what key on mac) to switch between pencil and select tool, makes drawing in those clips & notes/points quicker. you could also map the mod wheel or rotary to both freq & res in the thor so you only need to automate one value, depending on how you're going to use it

  • Your tutorials kill it SON!!!!

  • thank you!

  • lucky your sikk ive asked u before but i dont know if u got the message!! i bought ur sample pack and i was very impressed!! but there is 1 producer that i jus cant make his bass sounds; "WOLFGANG GARTNER" this guys makin some crazy sounds at the moment and i think his the next biggest thing!! Let me know if u can chop somethin up ;)

    PEACE

  • simple yet effective :)

    Cheers Jordan!

  • Nice! I totally remember asking you how you did this like 3 months ago!! thanks for providing this to all your fans!! Woot!!!

  • Do you think its worth the money if i buy Reason then connect it to ableton?

    I can rewire it right?

  • YAH! Reason is a GREAT addition to pretty much anything. I use it with Logic, and it works wonders!

  • how?

  • Cool...

Although i thought it was like some other sweep =/

I already knew how to do that but thanx anyways!

  • Yo man your videos are real gd,any chance a video on creating almost dubfire type whitenoise bursts?

  • can you make the subtractor one, for reason 3 users!

  • awesome thx thx!!...check out my demo on my account if u want!

  • you are the shit!

  • awesome i always wanted to know how to do that!!

    thx :D

  • tyvm!!! if you use the effects can u make the sound a lot harder then or? So if u want a strong build up in a dirty trash/elektro track?

  • Cool stuff, you should make a tutorial showing how to create a white noise crash ... Many people are asking about it !

    Cheers
