  • I always remembered that at 11:00 they all miss those bottles on the ground , subtle humour?

  • love this flick, I was a kid when it came out. I went to boot camp at Great Lakes in 82, there was a guy there who just lived the Ellwood charactor. Had a bluesmobile, had the suit, played a mean harp...good times!

  • there what is?

  • I hate Illinois Nazis

  • Jake's face after they jump the hole makes me burst out laughing every time.

  • how did they flip that car like that /

  • Ah, remember the days when you could really beat the hell of a Dodge and it still perform amazing feats of physics and logic? :)

  • Still trying to figure out how it's physically possible to do a blackflip and land going forward but great entertainment nonetheless.

  • half a pack a' cigarettes and a full tank of gas

  • 0:09 What is deliberate that they don't break the bottles?

  • fuckin epic no matter how u look at it..... glad to see there are still Americans out there

  • no matter how many times me and my dad have watched this movie we alaways laugh are heads off, lol good times good times

  • Are they for real drop a car from heigh?

  • The use of unnessicary violence in the apprehension of the Blues Brothers has been approved

  • Bluesmobile vs. General Lee. Winner?

  • That Pinto got some serious air at 2:06.

  • that has to be to be the tallest fucking bridge in the world!

  • @highspeedheadbanger no, about 15' actually !!! LOL ! in reality, it was the unfinished section of-794 in Milwaukee..back in `79

  • I've always loved you

  • I wish my car could do that.

  • You Guys Know The Orange Car Is A Pinto Wagon & It Looks Like It Has V6.

  • It seems 5 Illinois Nazis are offended now. Too bad. This scene rocks!

  • funny that they jump from milwaukee then land in chicago

  • They can't be touched, they're on a mission from God.

  • Like the way their car does a back flip

  • @Nanotech92 What's that thing coming out of the stunt-car in 1.53(!)

  • 2:00

who makes roads that high up??

  • @mrgettostomp Illinois Department of Transportation

  • @Calvin5040 but really tho if you pause it a couple secconds earlier you can see the whole road and its only like 15 feet high

  • use the 9 button

  • Is it serious? Yap.

  • What the f___ was that! (totally forgot about some of the f bombs in this movie...lmao)

  • This NEVER gets old. I always laugh out loud when I see it... also, friggin' loser Illinois Nazis driving a Pinto wagon CLASSIC!!!!!

  • Uber classic, saw it in the theater back then.

  • is he gay

  • Looks like a bit of Harry potter flying cars than physics but heyd it's still cool

  • lol bridge is 20 meters off ground and they fall 1000

  • i hope this clip makes its way out of the outer-rim of our milky way galaxy.

  • 1:53 PHYSICS? WHAT'S THAT? :D

  • In a scene restored to the DVD release, Elwood parks the Bluesmobile in a tiny Chicago Transit Authority storage shed underneath a bank of transformers for the CTA trains. Dan Aykroyd had written this as part of an elaborate scene showing the Bluesmobile being "charged up" by the transformers to explain how the car could perform its impossible stunts. Director John Landis discarded the complicated explanations, saying, "It's just a magic car!"

    (from IMDb)

  • I've always loved you

  • Thats funny I didnt know Chicago had anti-gravity

  • No way the bridge was that high.

  • @kayjo101 it's not, the end of it was anly about 15' high.. I-794 in Milwaukee, just north and west of the SUmmerfest Grounds..

  • The Best scene from the Film.

  • I can't stop thinking "Hey, there's one of the judges from Boston Legal.".

  • I hate Illinois physics...

  • What's the song?

  • @RCProductionable Richard Wagner - Flight of the Valkyries

  • John Landis' movies are grossly overrated...and he killed Vic Morrow.

  • watched this again on TV last night, forget about this scene, it made me LOL so much.

  • What the fuck, the car physics in this movie fucked my brain haha

    5/5

  • ITS SO CRAZY!

  • "I hate Illinois Nazis!"

  • This chase defies the laws of Physics XD

  • @Fafnerluver922 'Cause they are on a mission from god.

    DUH!

  • is that dodge monaco automatic or manual? i can't tell

  • Herbie, eat your carburator out.

  • they almost fall off the cliff right by the milwaukee outdoor amphitheatre ,big drop back to chicago i guess.

  • I don't like the end of this scene.

  • @TheFORCEBRUTE Ride of the Valkyries

  • "Feh-ster".

  • 4 people are functional idiots.

  • One of the best lines ever... "I've always loved you."

  • More than 200 police cars destroyed

A girl that is handling with very lethal weapons

    Nazi's on a huge rage!

    And rampaging Cowboys!

This movie have everything all the other movies lacked...

  • @FlammieLL Like a mall...this movie's got everything!

  • @FlammieLL don't forget the two awesome guys wearing jazz suits and always wearing sunglasses that are on a mission from God

  • Obviously, four people suffer from "imagination deficiency"..

  • No CGI. They actually dropped that Pinto from over a mile in the sky.

  • i lurv how the Bluesmobile can fly!!!!!

  • Obviously four people have no souls

  • The jumps scenes here are more believable than the one in Gone in 60 Seconds.

  • 4 Illinois Nazis were offended by this video

  • @Blimp19986 I hate Illinois Nazis......

  • @Blimp19986 wrong. i am a Nazi but i was not offended. Its a jewish hollyshit.

  • @tiborvivi but are you from Illinois?

  • AHAHAHHAHAHAHHAAHA......dumb Nazis!!!

  • well if you're gonna say, that would have been the time

  • Even has one o'dem WW2 German pistols, now that's thorough nazism!

  • this is a very realistic scene

  • I like how the chase was filmed in both Chicago and Milwaukee

  • I didn't know till many years later that homosexuality ran rampant through Nazism.

This line is reference to American Nazi Frank Collin, of the Skokie, Illinois protest fame, for his '79 arrest for being a homosexual pederast. Two decades later the joke suddenly made sense.

  • @RandallFlaggNY : The Illios Nazis are wearing the same brownshirst as the SA. Homosexuality was fairly common in the SA. The SA were disbanded when Hitler felt that the SA were no longer necessary and had the Black uniformed SS to arrest and execute the SA leaders

  • Flying off the unfinished Milwaukee I-794 Hoan Bridge through a portal in space-time, down through the Chicago downtown skyline.. it was a great movie - gotta love the dreaminess of it!

  • @jameshaagensen it's supposed to be ridicules that's why it's funny

  • 1:53 wtf! That makes SOOO much sense!!

  • @starflame34 one reason why i only watch this movie every now and then, cause that car flip is bullshit and has always pissed me off

other than that part in the chase . good movie

  • I have this on VHS but the tape is missing from the case.

    D=

  • @CylonAndrew Missing VHS is pretty much BASIC!!!!!

  • a orange pinto wagon...perfect to blow up

  • Damn Illinois Nazis.

  • what is the song ?????????

  • @fishingboy11 "Ride of the Valkyries"

  • @Arjay9975 thanks

  • GREATEST MOVIE EVER MADE! I saw it when I was nine years old in the theater. It's still my favorite!

  • BEHOLD, THE GREATEST MOVIE MOMENT (in my opinion) EVER MADE!!!

  • the last minute is the best part!!! how high is that bridge?!!!

  • 0:26-0-:38 i loved that engine rumble

  • Just watched this movie for the first time last night and loved it, now one of my favorite movies!

When the music kicked up when the Nazi's came outta the parking lot I nearly laughed myself to death.

  • There they are....................

  • I love the very obvious continuity errors, the nazis start falling above a dock and land in a downtown street. XD

  • Sometimes I wish physics worked this way

  • hahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahhahaha

  • At :45 Elwood says "We've thrown a rod" What exactly does that mean?

  • @sarnow76 A piston connecting rod.

  • @sarnow76 I think he said we've blown a rod, meaning they broke a piston rod in the motor...which means your motor is screwed lol.

  • @sarnow76 When you "throw a rod," it means that one of these rods has literally broken off. When that happens, one of two things occurs. If the rod breaks while the piston is on its way up, the piston keeps going up until it jams itself permanently into the cylinder head. If the rod breaks while the piston is coming down, the broken rod can pierce a hole right through the engine block Either way, the engine is instantly ruined

  • @BIGnEASY350400 : Suspend your disbelief, man! This is a fun movie, filled with ridiculous, non-realistic situations and people. What about when the car backs up and inadvertently does a backflip without even hitting anything? Realistic? No. But FUNNY AND FUN!

  • @AceSkepTik

hahaha. he backs up, somehow flies in the air, and somehow turns around in mid air to go the other way? i give up. haha

  • Those special effects were terrible. Almost as bad as the special effects for the Turkish version of Superman

  • the Blues Brothers chase scene HAS to be the longest/biggest car chase scene ive ever seen in a movie ... can anyone confirm ?

  • @ShowKase Dunno about longest, but I know that they destroy a hell of a lot of cop cars. XD

  • Awesome stunt work.

  • Never seen better car chase scenes than from Blues Brothers

  • @KamiKaZantA except for among others: Bullitt, French Connection, 7 Ups.....

  • @ITILII Never seen those movies. And pre-emptive strike before possible flamefest: My previous statement was mentioned only from my point of view, not a proffesional angle, nor everyone else's.

  • i hate illinois nazis

  • lolololololololololololololololololololololololo thats insane

  • what the fuck was that, the motor we've blowen a rod,

  • @KerseyRedneck1822

    Is that bad?

  • @ethen24 Yeah

  • 0:09 since I saw this move it amazed me how none of the cars actually crashes with the bottles from the left. I wonder if this was on purpose :|. cause I think thats a WIN for the bottles!

  • @masterKitano lmao hilarious i thought i was the only one that noticed that ... always did since i was a kid

  • @masterKitano LMFAO!!! You to?? Ever since i was 10 years old, i thought that same thing....HA!

  • LOL I was driving down the road today when I saw some idiot throw a rod. Either that or he was driving with no oil. HUGE plumes of blue smoke from the engine. I immediately thought of this scene

  • lol longest fall ever :P

and i love the backflip part XD

  • in all honesty, have you seen anything more epic ever?

  • My mates Dad cries with laughter like a 4-year old girl when the line is said! I'm laughing at it as i'm typing this!

  • i had no idea there were flying cars back then lol :) it's so funny how they used cartoon logic, flipping cars 60 feet in the air, a car smashing through the pavement ect.

  • one of the best movies.....EVERRR!!

  • the red car is a ford pinto and the green car is a ford country squire this is also very funy. lol 1:55, 2:25, and 2:36

  • @MrAirbuster57 Wonder why they used so many Fords but no VWs, could be because Ford supplied the nazis with trucks in WWII and Hitler was a fan of Henry Ford. Shoot, now Ford spies are going to harass me.

  • ride of the valkyries:D Wagner :D Wagner :enemies of the Jews:D John Landis:Jewish :D

  • Illinois Nazis, The Chicago Cops, The Good Ol' Boys, Carrie Fisher...Nobody beats the Blues.

  • @artytoons Right on..noby ever has & nobone will. ;)

  • YES YES LETS CHASE THEM IN STATION WAGONS!!!

  • The normal version of ride of the valkyries is much slower than this version.

I want the version in this movie!

  • best film ever!

  • gay lovers Glenn Beck & Rush Limbaugh in the iconic car chase scene. priceless !!!

  • HOLY SHYT!!!

  • the name of the song??

  • Hands down the coolest movie ever made!

  • @Reggie1971 You Know It...great acting & musical & comedy picture all in 1 eh. ;)

  • This is such an *awesome* movie. I bought three copies of the video so far. One of the best films that was ever made, maybe second only to Blazing Saddles.
