  • I didn't see any Kung fu in the sparring. I saw what looked like a kid fight, no disrespect intended. Good video.

  • can anyone please tell me is this the bristol or southampton location?

  • This took place in Bristol.

  • AWESOME FALLING BUTTERFLY KICK!

    -Tian Liang

  • Bizarre. An extremely talented Master (Instructor) and by any standards students who are also very accomplished. that said the fighting was remarakably average, even sub-standard. One doesn't transate to the other. Seems you can't always have it all.

  • Shaolin is beautiful, but is it actually effective in a real fight? I really want to know

  • if you was adept in all the shaolin martial arts you would be a lethal weapon mate.. but as for everyday i would say use some moves that work with you.. search Jeet Kune Do

  • Shaolin fighting focus on defensive manouvers, generally trying to wear the opponent out before putting in a few strikes. Shaolin is debatably the strongest kung fu style, and also one of the hardest to learn.

  • One would need to train HARD, As anywhere, train hard.

  • admittedly wushu is a little acrobatic-y and for show, but shaolin in general is an extremely effective method of training the body and mind and as a form of meditation.

  • In The real fight certainly you don't need use forms all need is your result from your training. I do respect every martial art and every martial arts player as I understand any of them do have there own specialty. As I know practice martial arts is not easy not sample as kick and punch, during the training you have to have willpower, endurance, self-surpass. So I hope you could respect our members our style as well. Thank you. Sorry for my English. Good luck to your training. Yanxin

  • Thank you for you all to watch our video and give the comment. But I would like to say that if we say Shaolin kungfu mean only about fight, I think it's not deep enough for undersdand Shaolin Kungfu. Fight and defend just a part of Shaolin kungfu. Shaolin Kungfu also mean that arts, culture, health, respect, philosophy etc. the forms is the way to practice your kungfu to inprove your body condition. Kick punch attack defense all is from forms.

  • The master chinese master is far ahead of the others. You can't use Kung Fu with boxing gloves, you cannot grappe with them.

  • i dont get it. they make it seem like kung fu, but they fight like tae kwon do.

  • yeeh doesn't seem like they had the real training yet.. seems like they got stuck with tryin to remember their moves they've been practicing and couldn't apply it in a real situation.. i advise more full contact sparring to allow themselves to put their training to use

  • Nice showing overall, san da included.

  • they all try to remember there techniques when doing the forms, but as soon as they start sparring, you couldnt tell if they were shaolin students or school boy fighters......you train as you would fight, and fight as you would train..........

  • true there were all lost in the sparring.

  • why didnt they use the kung fu when they were sparring?

  • what "kung fu" are you talking about? no one uses the stances and strikes from the forms while they are sparring. jabs, crosses, hooks, push kicks and low and high kicks are pretty standard shaolin sparring techniques. Some people in the video are not very experienced fighters so they sometimes get carried away and lose technique but this is pretty much how kung fu sparring goes.

  • That seems to beg the question of what you are training *for* while doing the forms.

  • those moves would work well on the dance floor!!! : )

  • I trained for 14 years as a very dedicated student. Been a while now since I have been that dedicated but... alot of jumping around it seems. All the forms I train are very solid stances with very quick changes sometimes with a very subtle jump. But only after 2 to 4 applications.

  • never heard of that

  • Yeh looked like they were enjoying it. All thoughts of defending themselves went out the window thought just all out attack all the way heh.

  • that was well good enjoyed it

  • what does 4:20 signify?

  • @bidoa arm grab, groin strike?

  • If anyone is interested in a Shaolin Kung Fu/Chen Style Tai Chi show on the 9th June in East Grinstead please check out the listings for the chequer mead theatre.

  • wow the master is amazing

  • Your will is strong. Your reaction time flawless. Your dedication unshakible. I havn't seen skill of this level in a while, it takes alot of devotion to do kung-fu and use it the right way and not for wrong.

  • unshakable. And who are you even talking about. theres a bunch of people in this.

  • Master Shi Yan Xin?

Related to the Abbot Shi Yong Xin??

    Awesome!

  • Hello everyone this is master YanXin. thank you for you watching my videos, give a comment.I hope you enjoyed and hope everything going well with you. best wishes. YanXin. shaolin temple kungfu.

  • nice forms just need more intent and explosive power. as for ur fighting idk when we spare we dont wear chest pads and we fight exactly with what we train. but very nice forms all around.

  • that was me gettin kicked in the head!! only just got my tooth fixed from it!! haha

  • good sparring JIA YO !!

  • the master is always the best
