The stupidity of this commercial is seen by the fact that Japanese does indeed have several Shinto and Buddhist temples around Pearl Harbor.
You might wonder if Japanese did that to piss off Americans. In fact no. Hawaii just has the largest Japanese American community in America, and they're just exercising their 1st Amendment Rights.

Yes, Islam is a fucked up hateful religion. Still that does not remove the fact that America has done some truly bad things in the Muslim world. Yes, one can argue whether or not they were justified, but bad they were.
It was,in part, because of these bad things that America was targeted on 9/11. Again, I fail to see why ignoring this reality helps at all.

In my experience most Muslim, as do most Christians do not take their religion 100% seriously.
In fairness the Quran does favor subjugation of infidels to the will of God as manifested in the Quran, not killing them ... which by itself is very fucked up.
