FSX uses cfg files,numbers numbers and numbers,xplane actually simulates wind,weight,flight dynamics without using a cfg file ;)

@Lvieru96 uhh, the version of xplane you see on shelves isnt the kind thats FAA approved, its only the commercial edition you can buy for 1,500, more than the average cost of a full PPL course. The ground school I took at my local airport doesnt use Xplane OR msfs, neither does Embry-Riddle, the top avaiation school in the country.

lemme x-plain (lol....) the bad aircratf modeling. if the aircraft from the past their past sims work with the new ones they include them. unlike MSFS thye dump them and make new ones. 2nd.. they really leave aircraft and scenery making to the developers like JROLLON and XPJETS ( both payware. both outstanding!) and freeware such as xplanefreeware

Well, X-Plane calculates the shape of your aircraft and then determines how it flies. It all counts on the shape. The aircraft in X-PLane arn't exactly top notch though. Just a small difference in the modelling can make a huge difference in how it flies! Overall though, it's still personal preferance on which one you like, MSFS or X-Plane...

The 60GB is just for the scenery around all the world. Terrain are pretty good and accurate (really depen of areas) but overall it is not that bad. But it doesnt include buildings for airports, it's just the terrain

There are many tutorials over youtube on how to make a flight plane using xplane. I even have one. You can use Goodway (payware ) or simroutes free i think

In the settings menu you can increase brightness. This was requested by several (many FSX) users and now it's in the game. Don't forget to fill your xplane with addon. You can also use some FS sceneries by converting them in xplane format. Go to x-plane(.)org or xpfr(.)org. Many good things you'll find

For me it could be yes, but i recommend more to test the demo, even if its limited in time you can add new planes, sceneries plugin etc.

Make a deeper test to see what xplane can really achieve. If you're not convinced just don't buy it.

What do you mean when you say in the description that the plane models are poor? You mean the default ones that come with the demo version? Because you can download lots of great-looking models from third party creators (available through the X-Plane website).

One thing I notice about the majority of X-Plane gameplay, is it always seems like the world is dark and gloomy, rather than bright and cheery when it should be. I do think FSX could do a better job with its weather sin and it's "gloomy weather" creation, but in terms of flyable atmosphere, and an inviting one, FSX does it for me.

It's true, X-Plane seems to err a little bit on the low gamma and undersaturation side, but in my mind, it's better and more realistic than the candy-colored wonderworld of FSX. Actually, on X-Plane 9.3 and up, there is a gamma setting that allows you to bring up the luminance across the whole tone curve, which fixes the issue quite nicely.

first of all there is no FS11 in development because that part of Microsoft aces studios which makes FS was killed off. They only go to Flight Sim 10 which is complete and has been for about a year or two.

Unless you have a very high spec PC you will feel let down by FSX, because without a good PC the preformance will be sub standard. What do i reccomend? Well X plane uses a lot of memory to install. My reccomendation is: go buy MSFS 2004 for cheap. It really is by far the Sim most commercially available for everyone in my view. The detail acheivable through all the free and payware addons. I own both FSX and FS2004, and i love both. My "personal" favourite is FSX because i can run it very well

FSX is 100 times better than this POS. Yet, people still say that X-Plane is better because you dont need a good PC to run it on, where as FSX requires you to have a decent to great PC to run. My laptop is on the market right now for $600 or so. It is an HP Pavillion dv6000 no upgrades such as graphics card, etc. and i can run FSX perfectly on High settings. It is a shame that Microsoft closed the Flight Simulator project. I was really looking forward to an FS11.
