on the 1st hand, how do you rule out him having a pair after he c-bets the flop? is it because most pre flop raisers will make a c-bet regardless of their holdings?
@1skullduggery He ruled out the pair for 3 reasons: 1 - Its an obvious c-bet position as you said, so he could have anything, 2 - the board comes with 4s and a deuce, and no pre flop playable hand would hit that flop anyways, and 3 - the board had a pair, and because of that his opponent only had 2 cards he could hit, instead of 3. Hope that made sense ;)
@EdwardJamesCastSly yeah, but couldn't he have a mid pocket pair, or ANY pair there? i'm trying to get out of my habit of giving opponents too much credit, and it helps to talk these kind of things through...lol.
@1skullduggery lol yeah I know what u mean, and I could see a 77 or 88 here... but I would say that the pre flop raise should be at least 3BB or more with a made hand like these. Also, I think you should read opponents "board-wise", that meaning that you should be thinking "what could he possibly hit on this flop". But yeah, mid pocket pair is a possibility, but way more often he is just c-betting with nothing
@EdwardJamesCastSly yeah, i guess the secret is just playing a ton of hands until you've seen every kind of scenario come up; like jeremy in the video. you can tell he's using a lot of pure instinct from experience. it's funny coz' just today i was in a tourney and i pick up AJs. i put out a bet in middle position. i get 1 caller, he button. flop is uncoordinated. i miss and cbet the flop, he calls. i miss the turn and barrel again. he calls. i brick river and realize the only way i can win is..
@EdwardJamesCastSly to fire big on the river, hoping he missed and was just floating all along. i fire out a huge bet and he calls with absolutely nothing. lol. i think he thought i was just completely full of it because i had been aggressive in earlier hands and won some pots uncontested. he had the right idea, but my zip & pip was better than his squadoosh...lol.
Anyone else go to their skype at 0:17 ?
