I'm pretty sure that Jimi said that what this song is really about is falling stone in love with someone -- they named a form of LSD after the song -- not the other way round.

Just keep it in mind the next time you listen to "Passionate Haze" -- I mean purple.

As to "There is no God", I'm pretty sure it's in line with Buddihst and Hindu teaching in that there is no PERSONAL GOD, no supreme being seperate from you and everything else. They could have just as much said, "There is no YOU..."
