An account can get suspended from putting up videos of you singing Covers from famous singers, and the people that have lots of veiws and subscribers will appear more, so youtube is able to easly find the people who do covers that have great voices.

people like me, who like to sing but don't have a lot of views probably are less likely to. well i hope mine doesnt :(

She means 'cover song' by songs originally performed, written etc by the original artist. so example: katy perry, thinking of you. so she is setting them because esmee didn't get the artist's permission to perform those songs she uploaded. i've known for a while.

Its not really YT that is doing it, the RIAA and soundscan rules have changed because certain singers begin wanting Royalities of these videos so as of 09, the copyright laws have changed. YT is only inforcing these laws..

It just means that she covered songs, or sang songs that have been sung and recorded by other artists, and for some weird reason, the company is taking offense if youtubers are using their music. It makes no sense to me, i think that the people using their music are only making the song more popular. Esmee Denters is quoted in the dutch press as saying her account was suspended by Youtube "by mistake", but everytime you upload something, you see a warning about using copyright material, so why shouldn't those rules apply to her? I agree that it sucks (it has happened to me, too) but Youtube has to play by the rules - they don't make them! Record companies should start realizing that Youtube keeps the fan base alive and can generate excitement about music. They should use it, not fight it..

Dont think it will help:( The scans were done weeks ago and just now being enforced. This is all just so slimy of them. They wait till Esmee has millions of hits on a song and now they are gonna want money, you can bet on that. We heard that one song had been downloaded 2.5 million times via Youtube downloader.
