  • here are specs on motor - Briggs & Stratton ETek (Lynch) Motor

    veva.bc.ca/articles/etek.htm

  • make me one

  • The boost button is a great idea

  • that steering wheel is very common don't you guys agree?

  • Great job thanks for posting, I am will be building a low budget electric cart myself and rely on others sharing their wisdom via YouTube thanks

  • pretty damn cool man! i think ill stick to gas power though, much easier and faster to pour gas into the tank than to let 8 batteries sit and charge for a day haha

  • WHEELIE = EPIC WIN!

  • good video

  • were do you get the battery motor wheels at online

  • Whoa. A wheelie.

I'm kind of confused with the solonoid. So you used it to physically move the contacts from the controller strait to the motor? Why not just use a transistor?

  • how many watt motor?

  • @mx0506 19,000 Watts

  • dude sweet willy

  • I dont know much about electric karts and I want to know why you need a controler for battery and motor

  • The controller allows you to modulate power, so you can accelerate moderately, or go up to partial speed and not top speed. With only an on/off switch wiring the batteries straight to the motor, it would be similar to a car that would respond like you floored it, regardless of how much you pushed on the pedal.

  • so it is like a gigant switch thant can go diferent speed levels like switch for earphones to control the sound level.

  • how do you charge the batteries.

and how do you get the motor, if it is from the internet can you gif me a link?

  • @tsricco where can i get a controller @

  • @tsricco thanx

  • Nice cart. Just wondering if ya got an emergency stop just in case that potentiometer get stuck in the full on position.

Any fuses on the cart, any issues or concerns about shorts and fires?

  • Yes there is a fuse. However, the solenoid bypasses it (otherwise it would blow). The fuse protects the controller during normal acceleration. Also, we have a Hella master switch (1750 A surge) which cuts power to everything (boost, controller). Our first solenoid was defective and fused shut. The kart was stuck on full power but thankfully the driver remembered to twist the masterswitch off. No problems with the new solenoid for over a year.

  • thats one nice cart. do you know how much it cost to make?

  • Total cost to build was $2200

  • cheap... i wonder how much it would have been if u had got lithium batteries.

  • Well I purchased the current batteries for $25 a piece (so $200 total), which was a really good deal. Good quality lithium batteries would probably be anywhere from 3k to 5k (batteries only).

  • how solinoid work

  • Pulls a wheelie! If you ever hit 88 mph you're going Back to the Future.

  • nice wheelie

  • 00.49 wheelie :)

  • not sure i have £1400 to spend on an electric cart, i think i might just go for a 250cc two stoke go cart for £600 second hand

  • where did you get that electric motor from?

  • i'm doing an electri bike, so far it cost me 0$ lol i won an elecyric scooter, and put all the parts on my first bicycle, wich was a gift rom my dad :D

  • boooo.....

  • this is the future of transport hehehehe

  • can you find a electric go kart like this in stores at all... ive have been looking for an electric go Kart that goes this fast most of the ones i have found on the internet have only said to go about 20 - 9 mph ... how fast would u say ur go cart goes anyway

  • About 40 mph

  • wow, amazing. when i was building my go cart i was original planing for it to be electric but my price range didn't agree. awesome wheele, and what cost you 2200$ in it?

  • The biggest costs were motor, controller, batteries, frame, and brake. Some of the other costs include metal for the motor mount and battery box, wire supplies, wheels, tires, etc.

  • can u drive it when raining outside

  • I haven't and I don't recommend it. It's possible to build a water resistant electric kart but I'm sure it wouldn't be very easy. The controller is water proof, but the motor and all wire connections would need to be protected as well.

  • Total cost to build was $2200

  • Dang it Tricco, youre so freakin Rich.

  • how much did it cost to make this?

  • i guess its ok but i prefer a gas powerd one : )

  • batteries last for 20-40 minutes just cruising around with some hard acceleration mixed in. With my charger the charge time is overnight...With a higher quality charger it could be 3hrs.

  • How long does the batteries last and charge for ?

  • batteries last for 20-40 minutes just cruising around with some hard acceleration mixed in. With my charger the charge time is overnight...With a higher quality charger it could be 3hrs.

  • Popping noise is the tire peeling out a little bit right when I hit the boost switch

  • How do you do this? I've been trying to figger it out for ages, no dice :(

  • Yeah it is illegal...I've been pulled over twiceone cop told me to go home, the other thought it was really cool and said just don't drive it on his shift.

  • LOL they don,t want to call a tow truck to impound it. :)

  • wow you got it to do a wheelie...that was unexpected!!!!

  • hey, isnt it illegal to ride it on the streets?

  • what was that poping noise

  • Nice wheelie!

  • lmao @ "The End"

  • nice
