Koji actually says 'aitsu' and 'sono hito' when he talks about the person he loves. which means 'that person' or 'the one i love'. So he is neither referring to a male or a female.

Seeing as if the person who subbed this had put 'that person', it would get a little too repetitive. So as we all pretty much know that koji has the hots for izumi, it says 'him'. But to whoever's listening, koji is not actually saying 'him' ^__^

Thought that would clear things up a bit :D
