  • Holy Sheesh, he broke off his jaw!!!

  • what is the name of the song?

  • "No Mercy" by Eizo Sakamoto.

  • @VendavalEste thank you so much, one almost never get an answer on this site.

  • You're welcome. Hell, I uploaded the song on my channel.

  • @VendavalEste I uploaded the entire OST once and Rockmanzallz posted the link on his Riki-oh OVA video's description a few years ago, I believe. If anyone wants it, I can make a torrent of the Riki-Oh OST again. Cheers. :)

  • Wish the whole OVA was as good.

  • Holy Shit, this does look bad ass, I'm going to have to watch moar of this.

  • Correction, you're going to have to READ more of this; of the two Riki-Oh OVAs, this is the better one, and even then it pales in comparison to the manga, and even the movie. The manga is online and fully translated, have fun reading it, it's a blast.

  • Will do.

  • @VendavalEste don't forget the movie.

  • @elchippe Nothing compared to the manga.

  • @VendavalEste That is true.

  • this looks cool to man with an awsome story just to vilent but still cool

  • Finally a synced version! If what's been said is true, I should be looking for the Media Blasters copy eventually.

  • Let me know if the thing actually exists, I've been very suspicious.

  • Will do.

  • Make sure to read the manga and see the movie!

  • Great Video mate. Although very violent looking, this is a pretty cool opening both action and soundtrack wise. I actually quite liked the first Riki-Oh OAV. However, I did not like the second Riki-Oh OAV though because the second OAV was alot more lower budget looking and it did not have the same feel and enjoyment compared to the first OAV.

  • The second OVA had some really appalling animation and the art was just ugly, not even a lot of the music was that good either. However, it did have a kick-ass ending song that I'd like to hear in full one day. Also, as bad as the second OVA is, it's excellent compared to the second movie that was produced in 2003. I refuse to even consider it a sequel to Riki-Oh, I consider it a rip-off.

  • I did have both OVAs on VHS a while back from Japan before they both broke down on me. I know the first OVA is now available on DVD from Media Blasters but I'm not sure about the awful second one though. The first OVA was made in 1989 whilst the awful second OVA was made in 1990. During 1990 there was alot of anime titles that were really low budget looking compared to what they looked like the previous year. I'm not sure if Japan went through a financial difficulty in 1990 as the reason?

  • Is this thing really on DVD? I see it on eBay, but the sample picture is always the same image of a full cover, no one ever actually posts a photo, whenever I search for it on proper shop sites, they never have an image, and most often places list it as "out of print". A lot of OVAs were a lot like 80s direct-to-video movies, just low budget, but some got lucky because they had bigger companies behind them.

  • Also, I think things like the Riki-Oh OVAs were just made to please the fans because this stuff was never commissioned for TV, same with the Dog Soldier OVA. I always thought M.D. Geist 2 was a bad sequel of the 90s, but it looks amazing in comparison to Riki-Oh 2, then again, Riki-Oh 2 was in 1990, which was fresh off the 80s.

  • MD Geist 2 which was made in 1996 was made primarily for the american fanbase. The first MD Geist was made in 1986 and there was no intention in making a sequel at all. However, MD Geist was released in the US in the early-mid nineties and became extremely popular in the US and was more popular in the US than it was in Japan. The Japanese agreed to make a sequel for them in 1996 with the strong support from U.S. Manga Corps as the MD Geist picutre logo was the trademark for US Manga Corp.

  • Yup, that's exactly why. They even created a canonical prequel called Ground Zero, it's a decent three-issue comic, too bad it didn't seem to be released in Japan nor were its events or characters really referenced in Death Force.
