Actually the opposite is the true: the game runs significantly faster, because you don't have to load the autogen objects. (Autogen objects using far the most memory and consume the cpu also.)

Have you considered buying a TrackIR headtracker for looking around? It's sooo much cooler with it. Check out my Tileproxy video for an example!
