Reminds me a lot of the older Need For Speed games where they had crazy tracks and all kinds of crazy things going on. I like that dragon a lot, it's just there, no explanation, a great looking arcade racer I'm definitely getting this. The music is good too some of the best VGM in history.

Top Gear Overdrive didn't get as annoying so quickly. Vette and Midtown is way better to do just what it does, fun the first 30 tries. They should remake the one where you have to run into the other car and make the copilot scared. One was made called Yakuza, but it just wasn't the same.

do you know if i would like the game? i was thinking of getting it but i like sim racers more. ive been trying to find a demo of the game but cant on PSN. i tried a demo of ridge racer 7 and found it terrible, is outrun similar? like being able to turn while your drifting outwards and weird ass controles. or is the game more like say a motorstorm game?

I've no idea what motorstorm games are like but this certainly feels much better than ridge racer. I'm a fan of sim racers aswell and I rarely play arcade games but I found this game satisfying because though it's arcade it's not kindergarden easy. I suggest you try it out if you get a chance.

what arcade in Iceland has outrun? there's only one arcade here and all they have is time crisis 4 and tekken 3 and a bunch of junk games. and they got rid of all 2 of there driving games just so they could get a cheap rip- of of dance dance revolution.

Iceland has been awesome with the volcano going boom and all that. Iceland is way better than all the other country's I've been to, less pollution, no traffic jams. cool landscape ect ect.

Hell yes, Crazy Taxi 2 online would be awesome! Virtua Cop online would be wonderful too but you'd need a lightgun. Id definately pay to see a lot of old Dreamcast or Saturn games online with online multiplayer, I would actually rather play those games than newer ones..

The only ppl complaining about this game are little kids who have never been to an arcade. Prolly because as of late arcades have been dropping left and right an they are too young to have been to real arcades like those of the 80s and early and mid 90's.

well, annyone looking for a realistic racer, look elsewere. for sharp arcade handling this is the place to be. to help first timers out: there's 2 way's to start a drift:

if you travel over 240 km/h then you may do a "shift drift" by quickly dropping a gear and shift right back up to the highest gear. do this just before the courner, and your car will loose a small amount of speed, but you get the most tracktion out of a drift (to be continued....)

the shift drift is what the pro's use (look for video's from team marubaku) and gets you the quickest trough a courner that can't be taken full speed. still, the fastest way to get trough a courner is not drifting if the courner lets you do that.

then the braking drift: this requires you just before you stear into the courner to hit the brakes shortly while still keeping your foot on the accelerator. this drift goes a bit slower as braking costs you more speed, (to be continued...)

and in the really sharp courners, the car will still slide off the track.

using manual transmission is really easy, as most of the time, the car will be in it's highest gear, and only when you make a mistake, you have to shift further down. to make things more simple, when you accelerate, a flashing red light tells you you have to shift up, so you don't even have to listen to the engine note... how easy do you want to have it ;-) LOL

so if you are a time trial nut, who loves to shave second's off his time, the controlls of this game are really precise and easy. to bad some video's does not show that, as most journalists have no skill et al in outrun. and with coast to coast (the game that appeared just before this one) you could even adjust the steering sensetivity, so you can smooth the steering out if you find it to responsive.

i hope to find a lot of new friends online, as i'll sure be there when outrun finally arives.
