  • cutest kata I've ever seen

  • My sensei has always wondered what the bunnyhops at the end are for, would anyone please care to elaborate them for me? Thank you.

  • @Failfleetcaptain21 truthfully no one know, some speculate that the master that taught his pupils this died before he finished teaching it so they added it to finish the form where they started. The best reply I've gotten was "to hop over the bodies you've left behind".

  • @Crypticstrike Thank you, that was really helpful!

  • muito bom, esses senkustos é que esta pior

  • tem os pulos sim, pelo menos na linhagem Kanazawa ...

  • ta errado o CHINTE do estilo SHOTOKAN não tem os 3 pulos finais

  • this is the best kata in karate shotokan

  • Everyone in my karate club society has to know this one.

They taught this to us for an hour when I was only a red belt!

  • watch?v=F1-aM5ahjSg BROWN VS YELLOW!!!

  • in 1972 Nakayama Masatoshi sensei mentioned that with some Kata, the bunkai just wasnt known. This is one of them. But he also stressed that each karateka will interpret the Bunkai differently at the different times in their own journey. The catagorical Bunkai is just a starting point. No Oyo can be identical, not should it be. Some teachers teach as they were taught exactly without alteration, such as a useum piece exibiting his understanding of Karate at that time. This is a common belief.

  • One interpretation of the final movements is that a bully's grab to one's chest is secured and then the hops are used to apply one's body weight to break his wrist.

  • Oss!!

  • was it really part of the kata?

  • The three little hops at the end could represent 3 parts of a take down....I haven't figured out how it works yet though.......

  • W Karate!

  • Bunny hops? Try standing behind your opponent with hands grabbing the front of the throat, then quickly moving back, digging the fingers down and into the throat

  • Oooo someone knows their history beind the kata lol this is still a great kata though .. many people look at these and think they are easy until they try them and they soon find out that they aint lol i should know it took me nearly 3 weeks to get this one right

  • The final jumps are because the Master who designed the kata died before completition, and elders, for respect reasons, didn't hazard to guess final moves, so this kata remains unfinished... something like "Unfinished" Shumann Simphony :-)

  • I love the bunnyhops at the end!!!!! :3

  • @HaloItachi95 They are fearsome bunny hops! :3

  • @HaloItachi95 the bunnyhops they say its for "to hop over the blood that was spilled" but it is more likely that the kata creators or modifiers want to have the person doing the kata to end up at the same place as he started (note the tape)

  • @rocketrmt Ah, I see. Hopping over spilled blood seems like a terrible idea, it's not like it'll burn you to ashes or something lol. So yeah, I'd agree with you there. They're still funny though :P

  • eccelent hip rotation

  • my karate club is called chinte :) what are the jumps near the end, at 1:31 ?

  • Those were added, probably by Nakayama sensei, to get you back to the starting point of the kata.

  • ok. well usually katas start and end in the same spot. this one doesnt so you have to hop back to the start.

  • I' m speak italian.

I salti sono stati messi per tornare alla posizione inizioale nella croce.

  • PERFECT.
