Metal, the way the Metal Gods intended it to be, can only exist if it takes a evil or neutral stand on religion. Metal, TRUE METAL, can't have a message of salvation through Jesus in it. All they are doing is playing the music they love with the lyrics they love.
You have to focus on the lyrics, Deception. That is what differentiates the genres of metal, otherwise it is just instrumental. mrmikemusic, I think you're the stupid one here. Metal isn't only about being loud, there is so much more to it then that. And Black Metal is the exact opposite of Christian Metal. Furthermore, I am not claiming to own the rights to metal(if I had them, Christian Metal would not have been made), what I am saying is that Christians lack the proper soul to do metal.
Your argument seems to be changing, at first you were saying it is not because they are christian, but now it seems it is because they are christian... You need to understand this, the term "Christian Metal" is as broad as "Metal". Bands like Antestor (Christian BM/doom otherwise known as White Metal), Crimson Thorn (Death Metal), Crimson Moonlight (BM) are all christian! Infact bands such as Mayhem and Emperor tried to split Antestor up in the early '90s and failed...
...And ironically, Hellhammer (Mayhem drummer) was their session drummer on their recent 2 releases. Also, check out Drottnar, awesome british Unblack Metal band. Please state whether your problem is with their faith or their music, because it seems to me as if you cannot take the fact that christians can write just as good black metal just about the antithesis of what BM is about. Bands like these (Demon Hunter) you get a great sound with meaningful lyrics.
The only problem is they are sometimes hard to understand so I print off the lyrics to all the songs of the album that I buy. After just a little while it sticks with you and you can easily remember them when you casually listen to the songs.

i would say bta's vocals are some of the easiest to understand out of most bands that scream, growl, etc. but agree, looking at the lyrics do help sometimes.
Normal vocals would eliminate the possibility to experiment with unusual harmonies and cadences, it's alot more interesting than some of the shit you hear nowadays

Are you saying the instruments are the background and the vocals the foreground? Or maybe that the subtleties of music are the background? I really don't think you know what you're talking about, no offense. Music is much more then just the sum of it's parts, and if you don't listen to the less obvious and more complex melodies and harmonies, drum beats and rhythms, then you're probably missing a good part, if not the better part, of every song you listen to.

odirocks i didn't realize there was any real christian metal till to day. i've been looking but i've only found bands like under oath and desciple. to emo for my taste. i haven't been christian long so i'm used to mettalica and slayer. bands like that. i won't listen to slayer any more.

back when i listened to slayer i got into what they're saying to much. i'm trying to become a stronger christian and albums like "god hates us all" don't help me much. they're good musicians but i've made my choice not to listen to them. its wierd. i never knew any of they're members claimed to be christin.

I happen to be a Christian and listen to slayer. They use the extreme death sense for shock factor.... and their vocalist/bassist happens to be a Catholic if that means anything..

uh apparently dave mustaine, the frontman of Megadeth became a christian a couple years back...lots of their old fans wont admit it tho', but if you read the "Thank yous" the first person he thanx is God, and once you realize hes christian lots of the lyrics make sense in his newer albums like "the system has failed" and "united abominations"

i'm not trying to say anything bad about under oath. they just aren't my taste. i have appreciation for all nusic but i don't like bands like underoath and disciple as much. some of my family gave their cd's. but i don't really like much of the newer metal. killswitch is good. i'm not sure it's christian but all of thy're songs r positive.

Please, explain to me what it is you dont like about this. If it is the music then explain why, if it is the fact that they are christians, please get a life and don't hate on people because they believe something different to you. A good friend of mine from California remembers seeing As I Lay Dying at a club he worked at way back at the dawn of hardcore. Just one example of a christian band who have been around since pretty much the inception of a genre.A decent response from you now maybe?

It is not because they are Christian, I am all for freedom of religion. It is because they sound too cheery and good hearted to me. Metal, the way the Metal Gods intended it to be, can only exist if it takes a evil or neutral stand on religion. Metal, TRUE METAL, can't have a message of salvation through Jesus in it. It just can't. This is just Christians being intolerant and trying to convert what they see as wrong and perverse again.

How are christian metal heads intolerant? I assume you don't own The Physics of Fire, in the thankyou credits they name among other bands Cattle Decapitation. You think they would do that if they were intolerant? You are focussing way too much on the lyrics and not looking at the music. If you want christian music that doesnt sound cheery or good check out crimson thorn, antestor and mortification to name but a few. All they are doing is playing the music they love with the lyrics they love.

You have to focus on the lyrics, Deception. That is what differentiates the genres of metal, otherwise it is just instrumental. mrmikemusic, I think you're the stupid one here. Metal isn't only about being loud, there is so much more to it then that. And Black Metal is the exact opposite of Christian Metal. Furthermore, I am not claiming to own the rights to metal(if I had them, Christian Metal would not have been made), what I am saying is that Christians lack the proper soul to do metal.

Your argument seems to be changing, at first you were saying it is not because they are christian, but now it seems it is because they are christian... You need to understand this, the term "Christian Metal" is as broad as "Metal". Bands like Antestor (Christian BM/doom otherwise known as White Metal), Crimson Thorn (Death Metal), Crimson Moonlight (BM) are all christian! Infact bands such as Mayhem and Emperor tried to split Antestor up in the early '90s and failed...

...And ironically, Hellhammer (Mayhem drummer) was their session drummer on their recent 2 releases. Also, check out Drottnar, awesome british Unblack Metal band. Please state whether your problem is with their faith or their music, because it seems to me as if you cannot take the fact that christians can write just as good black metal just about the antithesis of what BM is about. FOR A CROSS TO BE INVERTED, THERE HAD TO BE A CROSS TO INVERT.

for some reaon i completely agree, though they go under the name of Christian metal, the attitude and performance screams everything but christianity but that in no way means that they arent any good because in truth they are vey good and its nice to know that they make killer music even though its labaeled 'christian' metal.

Bands like these (Demon Hunter) you get a great sound with meaningful lyrics.
The only problem is they are sometimes hard to understand so I print off the lyrics to all the songs of the album that I buy. After just a little while it sticks with you and you can easily remember them when you casually listen to the songs.

i would say bta's vocals are some of the easiest to understand out of most bands that scream, growl, etc. but agree, looking at the lyrics do help sometimes.

Normal vocals would eliminate the possibility to experiment with unusual harmonies and cadences, it's alot more interesting than some of the shit you hear nowadays
