  • While homophobia in the black community is a problem, I don't feel that blacks are more homophobic than any other group, nor do I think it's especially unique to our community. We live in a society that is homophobic and black folks aren't immune to that. It was Europeans who imposed their negative views on the Africans and Native Americans they colonized that created homophobia in the first place. So when I hear folks like Don Limon single out blacks for being homophobic, it seems shortsighted.

  • @itsGOTtobegroovy Great point man. I guess I'm most annoyed by the continual perpetuation of homophobic beliefs which constantly occurs in the more southern bible belt states. These views are most often expressed by black folks towards other black folks. Blacks may not have introduced this way of thinking but our culture continues to feed into it. We have to start taking responsibility for our own actions. We have the power to change what was created by others.

  • That was Don Limon. I am so glad that he came out and talked about black homophobia. I feel it is the worst in the black community. My parents nor friends didnt care if other people were gay but when it came to me, they felt like I did the ultimate sin. Whatever the fuck ever their still in denial because since I'm a feminine woman, they think I'm confused. I swear FML..

  • @o0R3stless0o You make a good point. Although many people in the Black Community feel that butch identified women have it harder but I disagree. When it comes to feminine identified lesbian, black folks can't seem to wrap their minds around that concept. Thanks for watching and sharing!

  • big bro this is why i miss your videos...this is truth and im sharing it with everyone that i know has issues with this. so many black men and women die each year simply because of their own people treating them with no acceptance. There is a very big difference in the ethnicities when it comes to black/ AA community vs any other. bro please keep posting your thoughts are beyond appreciated. this is the type of topics we need. i hope you posted this on TMOC

  • @MTR06 Thanks my brother. And it's good to see you back on here as well! Yo you went in on Chaz Bono homie, but I'm def diggin your progression. I'm bout to post this on TMOC now.

  • @BiggBoi72 you are so correct homie. Tactics used so many years ago are still at work. But the last place we need this division is in the gay community.

  • Excellent vid man...very good points made. The bottom line is since slavery as a race we were taught to devide ourselves by the method of our slave owners. Willie Lynch summed it up in his letters that pining the young black against the old, the light skinned against the dark skinned, the female against the male, the old against the young would overall cause a crab bucket effect in essence and it has worked and will work as he stated for generations to come unless we blur the lines.

  • I don't think u are being too idealistic at all...I think u made a lot of good points. I often wondered if some people considered the final phase, so to speak, of transitioning was being absorbed into the heterosexual world completely. I can imagine that it is a unique and peculiar situation to be fully accepted by a world that at one time rejected u or like u said a world that would reject u if they found out. This was a great video; very insightful and honest!

  • @nottyedges Thanks man! I believe you are right and being absorbed in the straight world is often times the end all be all for some trans men. I guess for me as I stated I'm just unwilling to completely detach from past experiences that in essence make who I am in the present. Thanks for watching!
