The apartheid government spent over 70% of their education budget on black schools and universities. Mandela managed to get a law degree and some of the other ANC idiots obtained degrees as well. Lets be honest, the DA needs to have more prominent black representatives to reach out to the majority community in a more aggressive way. There is still that colour barrier that is currently stopping Zille alone from being a real threat to the ANC at a national election level. If there were more black people at the higher echelons of the party it would help get rid of the idea that its a 'white' or 'coloured' peoples party alone. That is a strategy Zille should adopt.

@YearOfTheSens you're right. A major issue in SA that is preventing this happening is the policies in place which intentionally discriminate based on race. So if you're indian, coloured or white you don't have the same rights as if you were classified as black. The only way the mindset can change is by having everyone treated the exact same. As long as people are still seperated by colour and treated differently based on colour, then they will always see each other that way.
