There's one modern band that still loves doing these chord changes of D, A, G and such power. It's such a classic combination. Try looking for the song 'See the Light' by Green Day.
All your videos are so great and they have really helped me learn the songs. Just out of curiosity how much does a 12-string rickenbaker cost (the kind that George Harrison was given).
Thanks! The Rickenbacker 12-string like the one George Harrison used will probably cost somewhere in the $3000 (US) range now...but I'm only estimating because I have not priced one in a while.
I was kind of waiting for you to kick the drum kit over and smash the guitar into the amp at the end!!!LOL. It sounded so like Pete Townsend! Only kidding - great rendition
Hey Mr. Clontz, I'm trying to get a 12 string sound but i don't have enough money to buy a simulator pedal like the Electro Harmonix POG. How do I get a sound like the one you have in this video????
Buddy, I have seen many of your clips, starting with the "Here comes the sun" 12 string cover and I'd like t thank you for the enjoyment I get listening to you play...
I own a 360/6 with hi-gain pickups. I was considering swapping over to toasters, what do you think? They are very hard to source - do you have any idea where I can get a pair?
I would swap the High Gains for the Toasters. I did on all of my Rics that had high gains. Personally, I think the Toasters make a positive difference in the sound. They definitely have more clarity and chime. You can probably order them direct from Rickenbacker. -BC
All of my Rickenbackers have the 7.4K scatterwound reissue Toasters in both positions. There is usually some slight variation on the 7.4K figure when you buy these pickups but most will be very close to that figure. -BC
Bravo! I've watched all of your vids and this one's the best. I just love that SOUND. Have you ever tried playing Hendrix on a Rick? I know if I could play Hendrix I would!
This is sublime guitar playing Buddy!! I'm a monster Who fan, especially the earlier stuff. This is a great example of musical playing. I love the way you play the heavenly E minor7 with a slight spread feel to it. It's all here. The fluidity and majestic feel you show here is quality. I can't stop listening to this over and over! I'm waiting for the ultimate Who song........'I can see for miles.' Tricky one I know with several guitars and slightly more modern recording techniques, but well??
Thank You! I also like The Who...especially the earlier stuff. "I Can See For Miles"...who knows? It might show up here eventually...LOL Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. -BC
NO Gretsch guitars yet...but I am sure I'll eventually pick up one or two. I just bought another Rickenbacker 370-12VP but I haven't gotten it yet. Too many guitars...too little time to play! -BC
Great, buddy!! Have you heard 'so sad about us' by the who and if so could you do a version of it as i think you would do it great and i would like to see it please!!
Now, you're really rocking! You sound like you've got everything right. Even though you're playing it on a Ric 6 string, I must admit, it sounds even cooler on a 12-string!

What settings do you have on your amp? Like how much gain, how much voice, and how much treble?
drledsabbath 8 months ago
@drledsabbath Generally I set the Bass up at around 8-9, the Mid around 3-4, and the Treble around 7-8.
BuddyClontz 8 months ago
@BuddyClontz Alright, looks like I'll have to use my Epiphone amp, thanks!

@blabla727
Around $2-3k (Definitely worth the money though)
If you're looking for something cheaper, I advise you look into a Danelectro 12 string (Personal opinion of course, they're my second choice).

Hi Buddy! Great Cover!
Can you answer a question please?
How do you play on the "D" part?
And how is the tuning? Is it the standard tuning or other tuning on the strings?
Thanks a lot!!!
I really like it this video!!!
Regards from Brazil!!!
fhc24 2 years ago
Thanks! The tuning is standard. I'm not sure what you are asking about the "D" part...

This sound is probably only achieved with a Rickenbacker 12-string and some compression. -BC
