  • Im waiting for windows 8 and that new "ivy" bridge?

  • @Cliffe4567 Sounds great!

  • how do you type on this? is it compatible with wireless keyboards?

  • @Jsunmile It's a PC so it is compatible with everything! Wireless, Bluetooth, USB, software keyboards... you name it, they're all compatible.

See part two of this video for more info on input.

  • Can you convert the stuff you write into text?

  • @MrCav88 See part two of this video to see the "Tablet Input Panel" in action...

  • Seamless natural handwriting i.e. no lag and ability to rest your palm on the screen is a must for any tablet. That's actually what Lenovo and Samsung realized and started utilizing in their products. And if ipad 3 won't have that... meh

  • Wait till you see the Windows 8 platform! That's gonna be a competitor to the iPad series.

  • @Matthias19097 Maybe, we hope so. In the meantime Windows 7 is already a much better alternative for people who want to be productive on tablets... That does not mean playing angry birds more intensely! ;-)

  • This isn't even a fair comparison lol The Asus is running full W7 while the iPad is running a watery os called iOS and that is where Apple falls short they should have osX on a tablet

  • @2221Revelation True. It's like bringing a knife to a gunfight!

  • I think a good idea for the portions of the video that are upside-down like at 6:24 would be to rotate the video 180 degree clockwise. That way, both you and the viewers can better see what it is you are doing. Otherwise, awesome job, man!

  • @alienszez Good points. Thanks for your perspective. ;-)

  • Can the pen still work with your hand also touching the screen?

  • @jordenc13 Yes, by default touch is off when your pen is in proximity (within 1 - 2 cm) to the screen.

  • Dear santa,

  • 2 Hours and the battery from the windows tablet is empty :(. Ipad goes up to 11 hours.

  • @mas90009 Actually, real battery tests show that the iPad goes about 8 hours, not 10 as the fans like to swallow (because Apple told them too) and my Motion Computing CL900 Windows Tablet also goes for 8 hours. So what?

The point is that 2 hours (real use time is around 3 on EP121) is better than 10 hours not being able to do 90% of what you need to do. If what you need to do is Angry Birds, then go to town with your 8 hour iPad!

If on the other hand you need to work...

  • @oztabletpc That's right. Is it pssible to play 3D games on the asus? Like GTA IV or Battlefield 3?

  • @mas90009 It's a PC, so it is possible, but the Intel HD graphics adapter is unlikely to satisfy. It's not a gaming machine. You need Nvidia or ATI graphics for that.

  • @oztabletpc Yeah, that's true? Are there any tablet pc's with a Ati or Nvidia graphics card?

  • @mas90009 Not a slate like this. Fujitsu has the convertible Lifebook T901 with Nvidia Optimus.

  • @mas90009 You could get away with Minecraft and some old school Quake etc.

  • Can i use the (SIM card) on it?

  • @BshayR20 No, there is no 3G module in this tablet. Try the Samsung Series 7 Slate, Motion Computing J3500, F5v, CL900 or Fujitsu Q550 for a Windows slate with 3G inbuilt.

  • Can this attach to a keyboard? I do not mean it has a USB drive that a key board can be plugged into. I want a keyboard to attach to the bottom much like so the Dell Inspiron Duo Convertable

  • @PilotPaws Sorry, this is not a hybrid tablet (tablet with a removable keyboard) - slate only. Bluetooth or USB work and the included case elevates the tablet somewhat for laptop style use.

Hybrids are popping up a bit on Android, but not so much on Windows at the moment. One of the popular early examples of a hybrid tablet PCs was the HP TC1100. The only windows Hybrid I can think of at the moment is the Motion Computing J3500. I would not be suprised to see them make a come back.

  • 00:13 Glare hell!!!! Will someone create a table/mobile device without glossy finish?

  • @yakumoklesk Yes, unfortunately these consumer devices all have glossy screens because they look good on the store shelf. Bad luck for people who want to actually use them outside! I guess we've got Apple to thank for pushing form over function all these years...

The Motion Computing tablets (particularly F5v and J3500 Gorilla Glass) have anti-glare non-glossy screens that work perfectly outdoors. It can be done!

  • just curious. my asus eee fan is pretty noisy. did you encounter this problem as well? now i feel i should have gone with the Samsung Series 7

  • @Makajezi They both have fans, and fans are noisy.I guess some people are more sensitive to it than others. It never seems to bother me though...

  • sooooooooooooooo trueeeeeeeeeeeee

  • @oztabletpc

1.Is there a way to run android technology and windows 7?

    2. Is there a program to transform the handwriting into computer text/

3 Which keyboard do you recommend?

  • @liwaroman 1, yes I believe some people have run Android on Intel machines. I've never tried it.

    2. Did you watch the video? It's well explained and demonstrated.

    3. I use a Microsoft Bluetooth keyboard. Try some out, and choose one that suits you.

  • does it have a camera? Could it be connected to a keyboard as well?

  • @jjaacckkssdd Webcam on the front and it is a pc so you can connect whatever you want to it via the 2 usb ports. Keyboard, mouse, DVD drive, camera, usb memory, hard drive, phone... Anything you connect to a PC you can connect to this!

  • ASUS FOREVER!!!!

  • YES YES YES ... APPLE HAS TOO MUCH PUBLICITY

  • thanx 4 a good demo. I was professional CG & 3d artist & so i want a good tablet YET i want to be able to make notes & sketches--ur inclusion of a WACOM pen shows this, whew, gr8 to see..

-NOW a TOUGH QUESTION: can it switch the screen-mode to the "e-paper" mode that amazon has? Many years of detailed work make my eyes get VERY tired, whereas e-paper

reflects light like our eyes have been evolved to use. Can it do it--or in near future (at this price, it ought too!) thanx, Rob M.

  • @robelicit Sorry Rob, no such screen exists... It may one day of course!

  • nice review..

i have a question...can you stream music from spotify(not premium) on this device?

    thanks for your time!!!

  • @erikinkin If you can do it on a PC, then you can do it with this (since it is a PC, same as a Windows Notebook or Desktop PC). I don't use spotify, so I can't answer that...

  • So these tablets are just adding the touch functionality or also giving the power of tablet for surfing web and mails together?

Because this can then be the perfect device for me

Also, can I do some basic video editing for it?

  • @Manmeetthebadboy Yes to all of the above. I produce all of my videos on this and similar devices from Full HD footage. The Active Digitizer Pen is a very cool way to work with video editing.

  • No camera :(

  • @Searchinganswers yeah, only webcam on the front... Samsung Series 7 Slate has front and rear...

  • i like you def a subsciber!!! recently my cosin bought the ipad and now i understand: its just a TOY........ they say its good for either a)games-true: mostly what i find myself eventully doing b) movies-not true: diffcult to copy video files to itunes (youve said it here 5:03) c)internet: its difficult do open few sites at once (you've said it in cl900 car video 7:17)......... i might buy a tablet with windows somtime next year (just bought hp beats laptop) so yeah very helfull THANK YOU!!

  • Your calling my finger dumb! :O

  • @BFMVJenny hehe... No, no. Not your fingers... but other peoples, sure! ;-)

  • @oztabletpc Haha, okay then! :D

  • Excellent Review.

    Thanks

  • This is great. How much does it cost approximately?

  • @MrJohnnation Google your local websites for pricing. It depends on what country you live in and what currency you use!

  • @oztabletpc I found that it cost more than 1000euros,and it is 2x more than other Android tablets and iPad,but since i want to buy tablet for browsing the web, watching films and some gaming i think that this is too expencive and for business people so i think i will buy maybe iPad.... But still, this is awesome device.... ;)

  • @MrJohnnation Oh well, you may never know what you've missing out on! But yes, you're right, this type of tablet is not really for home use. Businesses can easily justify the price with immediate productivity benefits, but it's a bit harder to do that around home! Great if you can afford it...

  • I wanted to buy a tablet or ipad but I saw someone selling this a few months old with case and bluetooth keyboard and mouse for 800$ which is about 100$ more than I'd pay for an Ipad. Is it worth buying? I ask because this tablet pc has been out for a year and I am worried it will soon become obsolete and more powerful tablet PCs will soon be released for the same price.

  • @binaryfinary2012 Only one thing is guaranteed.... whatever you buy will be obsolete soon. Yes, this machine is worth at least $100 more than an iPad, so that is a good buy. There's never a perfect time!

  • As someone who runs photoshop, sketchbook pro, zbrush and other programs, this video really helped cement that the Asus is the tablet for me, given the pressure-sensitivity. If nothing else, that puts it head and shoulders above all of the competing products I've seen. It's like having a cintiq hooked up to a decent PC, all in a 2 pound package. Thanks for the review. It helped a lot.

  • You can't compete with Ipad by showing similar features or how bad the competitor's features are. You need to jump the curve by introducing extra ordinary features. example:

    Ipad2 10hr battery.. Asus 20hr battery.

    Ipad2 900Mhz Dual core ARM - Asus Quad Core ARM/Intel (ARM & x86 codes)

Ipad2 1.33 lbs Asus 1.00 lbs the lightest quad core tablet in the world

Ipad2 capacitive multi-touch Asus digitizer for precision writing and capacitive touch

    Ipad2 64GB max Asus 128GB max etc

  • @tyo400 ummm, not really sure what you're trying to say here... actaully I am not trying to help Asus compete with the iPad. iPad will continue to sell extremely well despite this video!

What i'm doing here is educating people on the differences. They are quite compelling for many people as you will see from the comments below. That said, if you think you can do it better, it's very easy thanks to youtube! Make your own video and show us all how its done!

  • the advantage of the ipad is the 10 hr battery life

  • @edmondov Ok, so a tablet with 1/10 the functionality is better because it can last longer?

In actual fact, an iPad last 6-7 hours in real use testing and yes that is certainly longer than this particular tablet (there are plenty of windows tablets that do 8 hours+).

And yes, if all you need to do is browse the web (limited functionality) then iPad is better and cheap!

Bad luck if you want to run photoshop, excel or take notes efficiently. "10 hours" later and you're still SOL!

  • @oztabletpc hopefully, Win 8 will work well. i've will be waiting for a win 8 tablet since i am not an apple fan for abandoning Flash.

  • @edmondov Agreed, that said, windows 7 works very well on tablets too!

  • What version of microsoft office does it come with?

  • @MentalReserve Office 2010 is preinstalled. You need to purchase a Product Key Card to activate it. Any version will do.

  • great vid, we are getting one soon for our satellite office. I am looking for a tablet as well, albeit a lot cheaper than the $1100CAD for the 64GB (1050+- AUD)+tax . I am leaning towards the Asus transformer Prime with ICS. Would it be better to wait for the new Windows7 or alleged 8? I would like the "normalcy" of the windows.

  • @duplessis2006 Thanks. I'm not an expert in Android tablets so can't help you much with the Prime. Windows 7 is great for tablet as you can see in this video. You don't have to wait for it, it's here now. Windows 8 will be interesting, but it is not expected until late this year.

  • Ok, no offense, but saying "It's a USB port, it does what a USB port does on any Windows computer" would have sufficed XD stop coddling these and comparing them to the iPad, Windows tablet PCs have been around longer than the iPad and iPhone.

  • @pismodude2 hehe, I wish that would suffice... :-)

  • There are the same reasons I went with an HP TM2 instead of an ipad, you can actually do some work on it, while the ipad is an expensive toy.

  • the only problem with using photoshop on this Windows tablet is that it has not enough processing power for a good experience. Photoshop is too resource hungry.

  • @FugazStar Do you have this tablet? Also, what are you trying to do with Photoshop? Basic work will be fine. More complex tasks may be slow.

My advice anyway would be to go for the Samsung Series 7 Slate now. It has a newer Gen 2 Core i5 with better graphics so it would be better for photoshop.

  • @oztabletpc

No, I don't have it, but I've been looking for a similar tablet for years with enough processing power and Wacom Pen technology to replace my desktop+Wacom tablet. But personally I think we're still "not there". Even with my i7 @ 2.67GHz and 9 of RAM, sometimes Photoshop can get a bit slow and lag-ish, but yea for basic PS it's good.

  • @FugazStar Good call then. For advanced photoshop work nothing can beat a dedicated desktop machine.

  • after i saw this video. ipad2 is rubbish compare to this tablet .

  • Whoa whoa whoa. A tablet PC that has USB ports, Flash support, and Photoshop drawing capabilities via a WACOM Stylus?! Screw the Cintiq and keep your iPads, give me one of these! :D Thanks for the comparison review! How much is it?

  • Caaaaaan i download things like photoshop on the ASUS? Im trying to find something to replace my laptop, for the most part and all i do on my computer is school assignments, photo editing (wacom caught my eye with the ASUS) and surf the internet.

  • @DonnaaPinciotti Yep, sure can.

  • Nice video. Can you purchase the fine tip stylus separately? I already have a tablet but I've had a hard time finding a fine point stylus. Oh and in the US (I notice you video has the Australia location associated with the home URL). Thanks.

  • @j2cool2 Sorry mate, this is not a fine point stylus (there is no such thing for ipads etc if you are wondering). This is a wacom active digitizer pen, something that is only found in good quality windows tablets... not "pads". This pen only works with hardware that is built into the tablet.

i.e. if it didn't come with your tablet then you can't use it...

  • @oztabletpc Actually there is. There is Dagi and other competitors I found after watching this video that can be used on tablet for fine point work and I have seen them before watching this video, I just did not know where to find or names of brands to look them up but they are out there and they are not exclusive to hardware so a person is obligate to buy a certain brand tablet like you have implied. But thanks for the reply.

  • @j2cool2 No actually, there is not. I repeat, THIS IS NOT A CAPACTIVE STYLUS! It is an Active Digitizer Pen. Learn the difference... or remain happy in your ignorance.

If you think using a Dagi Stylus with a 5mm clear disk with a dot painted on it is anything like this you are delusional.

The Wacom Active Digitizer (Digitizer panel built in to the tablet and special active pen powered by induction). It has 512 degrees of pressure sensitivity and is proximity sensitive.

  • @oztabletpc Wow! Way to flip out and be hostile. All I was saying was I found one that I could use! You made it seem like I would have to purchase and use only one device and that I have seen other fine point stylus. If you think that what you have exclusive and no other stylus and/or equipment can do the job and have to be so rude in pointing it out, then maybe you are the one that need to remain ignorant and not even happily. All that rudeness was completely uncalled 4 n u misunderstood me!

  • @j2cool2 Ok, maybe that was a little rude. I'm not trying to be rude, so please don't take offence... but I am trying to be crystal clear and direct.

As you can see in this video, I do have an iPad. The video shows that there is absolutely nothing available for it that compares to a tablet with an Active Digitizer. It's a shame that Apple have chosen to turn their back on this incredible feature, so most people don't even know that there is a better way. You suggested otherwise.

  • hi again me, I bought my Archos 9 (cheap $245 on Ebay), there is a new Windows Tablet "Samsung series 7 slate" that really impress me because the 8 multitouch screen think is unique on these new 2010 generation tablets, whatever, I ask you if this new Samsung tablet will compite with the Asus EP121 Tablet, because on Ebay both costs almost $1000 the same price, thank you. If my english is missing something pls correct it and say it.

  • @aullaralaluna Personally I would choose the Samsung.

  • Great review! That ASUS slate PC makes the iPad look like a toy. I just need all that functionality at about half the price.. ;)

  • Can I watch DVD with an external DVD player

  • @John321374

Sure can, it's a PC with USB ports... Just like you could on a laptop. :-)

  • in the beggining i kept on trying to close the box at the bottom, until i relized that it was part of the video, until it went away in a few seconds I:

  • that's nice, asus is making a good job

  • did he kiss the slate 4:39

  • @ArnhemBoy20 LOL. Yes that was a bad cut...! Bad cut!

  • Can you load application on his device - for example AutoCad and if you can will it function properly?

  • @kconilred Yes you can, however the onboard graphics card in this version would not be ideal for heavy duty CAD work. The newer Samsung Slate would be much better in this regard with the Intel HD 3000 chip. Fujitsu T901 with NVidia graphics is another option.

  • how about battery life??

  • @LilyPotter123123 About 3 hours typically on this one. Look for the Samsung Series 7 Slate for a similar windows tablet with better battery life...

  • @oztabletpc not a fan of samsung thnx... the asus looks much better!! another Q: does hp have tablet with windows?? do they have tablets at all??

  • i watched this on my kindle fire =D

  • @sirdavidspagnolo Thanks for sharing.

  • Microsoft & ASUS, you have nailed it! i want to get one!

  • Just wondering, can you access facebook applications on that tablet?

  • @MiniplanetOlivia6 You can access facebook in your choice of web browser. This is a PC afterall. Chrome, Firefox, ie9 - full browsers with full functionality as well as proper flash support. So any "app" that you can use on facebook you can use on here.

  • @oztabletpc that'means the ASUS EP121 Eee Slate, is a pc? Can I instal all programs as I do with my PC? Have you an Idea about the price? would you like to advise me wich tablet Pc can i buy ? Thanks you

  • @XP5290 Yes, it is a PC. That is correct. Anything you can do on your laptop or desktop PC you can do here...

  • @oztabletpc "Anything you can do on your laptop or desktop PC you can do here..." so what about games? for example if i install ''warcraft 3" or some shooting game, how do you play without a keyboard?

  • @Miurella1 Bluetooth keyboard, plug a usb one in or use the Tablet PC Input Panel (On Screen Keyboard). The graphics adapter on this unit is not ideal for gaming though.

  • @oztabletpc yea, the acer w500 has a better graphics card, i think that because i saw it running wow like a charm.

  • Now that's what I call a tablet PC review !!

Thumbs up for you Brett !!

Keep up the good work !!

    Thanks !!

  • Lol, even when he is using the Tablet, he looks back at the camera.

  • @kingsidorak Look mom, no hands!

  • i say windows is better than mac, but that's just my opinion. i just don't like the way you use mac.

  • Wow, I was looking for such a tablet. I look and searched. I wanted a tablet where I could lay my palm and hand on the screen while I drew. The Ipad, other PC touchscreens, Wacom tablets were not the answer. Finally I found This the ASUS EP 121 and its a little more than $1000 unlike the Cintiq. You can rest your palm on the screen while draw and use your fingers only when you want to without the pen. Even those cheap wacom tablets are going out of style with the new Mouse pens out.

  • @besttabletinworld Yes, the ASUS is a great tablet for drawing on. The tablet hardware is not as advanced as the Cintiq for example, but it is cheaper and more portable as you point out.

  • What alternatives are there to this product? I cant find many tablets with wacom pens.

  • @mrken001 Fujitsu T731, T901, Motion Computing F5v and J3500, Samsung Series 7 Slate, HP Elitebook 2760P, Thinkpad T221 to name just a few...

  • @oztabletpc I'd rather buy a japanese make- is the fujitsu good for using photoshop and making illustrations?

  • @mrken001 The T901 would be perfect... look for the NVidia graphics version.

  • windows is better than mac os x and pc's are better than macs

  • @turbothunderlink Are you trying to start a flame war on my youtube video? I think that stuff's been done to death. No need to start it here... besides, everyone knows macs are for posers ;-P.

  • i like the last statement......annoying ipad ads....

  • @NotherRogue Might be a way to go for those who need to feel like they have an Apple!

  • @oztabletpc who really cares about apple.....asus made an amazing product with tons of more features than an outdated ipad......you know what windows will never get outdated.....

  • Fantastic

  • I really want an EP121 if only it was an Apple product. I've been waiting for an Apple tablet PC for years now. And with Axiotron Modbook (a modified Macbook) now a dead company, I will still NOT switch to Microsoft, because they have more viruses, more problems, and all my software is for Mac. I do have a hand-me-down Acer laptop and I hate it. My Apple iMac G5 (pre-Intel) is way out of date. And I'm tired of doing all of my artwork with a Mouse. I really need this Slate, but it's not an Apple.

  • @tcdesigns5000 That's the trouble with one-size fits all I guess. The reality is that Apple will never cater for your needs. The simply aren't interested.

I'm using the EP121 now and it, is awesome to draw on! Don't believe the hype on "more viruses, more problems," it's long been an apple marketing gimmick based on a slimmer of truth as all of their marketing is.

  • @tcdesigns5000 I got yesterday an iPad, my first Apple device. It took nearly two hours including an hotline call only to boot it for the first time. This was by far the worst experience with a new device ever.

And by the way, I´m thick of the "more virus, more problems" speeches. To boot the iPad I had to install iTunes. This single piece of software comes with a bunch of issues, it´s slow, it crashes occasionally, awkward to handle and it´s patronizing.

  • great review , but i disagree with you statement that the ipad is a better gaming device. there are tons of games can be run on windows operating system than an ipad. also, all the online games that people play does not run on safari because it does not have java or flash support.

not to mention ms office line of apps.

  • @snoo333 Fair enough.

  • windows 8 on this would be amazing... definite winner for design professionals in my opinion

  • Is this product arriving malaysia? Coz i can't wait to have it . It is what i need... it is what i expect.

  • @NegroidHunter Or for that matter an Android with an awesome and much more open operating system for even less than an iPad!

  • Does this tablet run ActiveX? Could I use the MLXchange for this tablet since it runs off of windows 7?? Please give feedback, thanks a million!

  • @tichondriis Yes, since it is a PC that runs a regular version of windows, you can run whatever software you like on it, including ActiveX.

  • @oztabletpc Thank's a million, though I have another question XD. Since this is a computer would it be considered a tablet pc? Like a Toshiba Portege? Would I be able to make electronic signatures for programs such as DocuSign?

  • @tichondriis Yes, that's correct. This is a Tablet PC, in a sense like the Toshiba. Yes, electronic signatures are easy since this tablet has the Wacom Active Digitizer Pen, just like all of the Toshiba Portege M7xx series did...

  • @oztabletpc Thank's again!

  • @oztabletpc Sorry to bother you again, but I own a Real Estate business, what windows tablet would you recommend?

  • @tichondriis Motion F5v would be a good place to start. You no doubt have lots of forms to fill out and documentation to complete in your Real Estate business. An F5v would probably pay you back in a matter of a few months with time savings alone.

  • @tichondriis If I download a PDF file to the computer, would I be able to sign it with the stylus pen without any additional programs or software. For example, if I download a sales contract on a PDF file, would my client be able to sign the contract with the stylus pen.

  • @tichondriis you'll always need Software to open a PDF file, and signing it would also be a function of the software you use. Bluebeam Revu and PDF Anotator will do the job and allow you to sign. Adobe Reader will not.

  • Will it be able to run Windows 8 when it comes out. Should i go for this tablet right now or wait for windows 8 tablets to come next year.

  • @valdios1988 Tough call. I would jump in and get a tablet!

  • Can you use itunes on it and sync an ipod

  • @WWESteven3D Yes, you sure can. You can synch an iPod, iPhone and you can even use it to enable you to turn on your iPad for the first time (although I believe Apple have finally killed of that stupidity in iOS5).

I'll spare you from my rant on what an awful piece of software iTunes is. ;-) Lucky you!

  • Join Asus Eee Slate EP121 on Facebook :) facebook.com/pages/Asus-Eee-Slate-Ep121/164284123622065 see exclusive videos, pictures, question quizes, information and more there!

  • Can you change your background and does it have flash?

  • @Selena13Taylor Yes, it runs Windows 7 Home Premium so you can choose from all sorts of desktop backgrounds and themes, as well as make your own. It does run flash very well too due to its fast Intel Core i5 processor and choice of web browsers with flash plug-ins.

  • Are you using Onenote in this video when doing the writing demontration?

If you are, is this the best note-taking software available out there? Ive done some research, seems to be true but i am not completely sure.

Are there other note-taking sofwares that you can install in the eee slate?

  • @B3TILLO Stick with OneNote, nothing comes close to it.

  • iPad is not better gaming because it can't run pc games like call of duty, but the Asus can!

  • I'm going to buy it on Monday :) Thx for this video :)

  • I know is great, but will it blend?

  • @musicalangel1 That's only for throwaway consumer tablets...

  • if it were priced like an ipad, i would get it in a heartbeat. But, its priced like a gaming laptop. That just doesn't work for me.

  • @goodcheesema Then it's not for you... You clearly don't have a need for it, as many consumers do not, and there's nothing wrong with that...

For people who need windows in a mobile form factor (there are millions of us), then cost is not the issue.

  • There is a better stylus for the iPad.

  • @AbuBishir True, there are better capacitive "stylii" than the pogo sketch and they are all awful in comparison the a Wacom Active Digitizer Pen. There is just not even a remote comparison between the best of the best capacitive stylus (absolute rubbish) and a Wacom Pen (premium writing tool).

  • Hi! Im following your reviews from Spain and I like them a lot, and your answers to comments as well. EP121 looks very good but the screen is a bit too glossy for outdoor (I work outdoor most of the time). Wacon pen is great. I think the F5V would be more useful as it seems easier to hold with 1 hand. Does it have the same type of pen?

  • @esmiusuariotutube Yes, the F5v is a much better option for outdoor work and it has a slightly better version of the Wacom pen. The F5v does not have fingertip touch though, however in this type of work touch is not so important. I personally use the F5v as my main tablet PC.

  • what is that little thing that you have on the desk next to the lamp? with the strap..=)

  • @madgetrix Motion Computing J3500 rugged slate Tablet. Similar to the EP121, just better for construction, mining etc.

  • Superb review, well done. I guess I'll just have to save 1k now :)

  • awesome device. I have been an apple guy for a long time now. Pretty much switched over when the iPod came out. Now apple products are really falling behind and its sad to see because its their own damn fault with the iOS. I was going to get the 4S but now I want the Galaxy S2. I wanted the iPad 2 but now I want this. THE ONE THING though that these great devices ALWAYS seem to lack is battery power. Its a deal breaker!!! it just is. In what world am I going to be able to charge every 4 hours?

  • @mharris7190 Battery life is a problem on this device. It really needs a swapable battery. l use the Motion F5V tablet as my daily computer. I use a car charger, and on occasion I hot-swap the removable battery. l would prefer to have Intel Care i7 computing speed on hand and have to work with the battery life. Time will change this...

  • Is there any way to improve battery life by installing a stronger battery?

  • @smk374 I don't believe so. Not on this one. There are plenty of alternative Windows Tablets that have a removable battery and/or better battery life though.
