Yes, it is. I prefer to call it head voice, because the falsetto is part of a male's full voice range.

actually there's a difference between falsetto and head voice. falsetto is an "unsupported" version of your head voice. most people can't use their head voice unless trained to increase their range, a normal head voice, you can use your support, which makes it sound normal (You'll notice if you use your falsetto voice it has a weird quality to it).

or at least i think all of that is right, that's what my singing teacher told me.

Personally, as a singer, I've trained to eliminate the break between my falsetto and my head voice. I can have a mix of the two and blend it well. Most males are not able have that blend between falsetto and head voice (due to lack of singing), thus having the "weird quality".

On the chorus, i do 2 regular down strums, followed by 2 light slaps on the strings in sort of a loose clenched fist position on my thenar (part of the hand). and then repeat that throughout the chorus. hope this helps!
