In my opinion, any belief (not just modern religion) that deals in morals and is strong enough to influence lifestyle will cross the line at some point. When a belief system tries to promote morality and explain the inexplicable, that's fine. But when it becomes obsolete and tries to maintain ignorance for its own survival across entire cultures, that's a problem in my eyes. It also fills people up with superiority... "my god is better" etc
Again, I'm not insisting that everyone misuses religion. But look at the statistics. In the USA, over 50% of people completely reject the idea of evolution... the problem is, almost all of these people have no idea what it even is! They think it's a monkey giving birth to a human. Not to get into that argument, but people should at least learn about what they refuse. Too many people reject even learning about science because it might threaten their personal beliefs.
@FolloweroftheLogos There's a lot in the bible that demonstrates (and often promotes) what today's culture would consider brutality and violence. It promotes discrimination and hate of those who aren't believers. It contains genocides and deaths by the one you call your creator, flagging it as okay. Even the amendement "though shall not murder" doesn't imply you can't kill... it just implies you can't kill unjustly - where justification is gladly provided by the bible.
That said, religion provides an excuse for everyday people, and even authorities, to magnify their natural tendencies of hate and discrimination. Modern developed countries suffer from the drawbacks of religions. Education, acceptance, social and scientific progress, all being suppressed in the name of religion. Maybe you're right and humanity wouldn't be any more moral without religion, but it would lift the excuses, and let's face it, science wouldn't be so stubbornly held back.
First, have you actually read the bible? The whole thing is a bloodbath. Maybe you don't interpret it that way, but it can easily be (and historically WAS) interpreted as a violent religion.
Second, dictators are bad, I agree, and should be eliminated. But religion serves as an excuse for everyone - not just the dictators - to act badly. We don't get terrorism from North Korea... we do from the Middle Easy. See the difference?

If this is the case for atonement for muslims, that means that the law has been changed by muslims. Therefore muslims does not have an atonement for sins.

I ask the Muslims How are you now being Atoned for your sins. Remaining steadily on the right path is a very general statement but it does not answer the underlying question.
@hguyon He against whom the sin is committed, is required to forgive the sin. For i.e. if some one commits a rape. This sin is against the rape woman and also against to God (breaking His law), hence it has to be forgiven by both, the God and the rape victim.
I think the underlying question is answered, when I say that if some one asks forgiveness from God, repent on his previous behavior and tries to be steady on the right path from now on.
I know both the Bible and the Quran. If we follow Islam, on judgement day, ur sins will be Judged on a Mizan (scale). When you are judged, if your good deeds out weigh your bad deeds, you go to heaven, but if your bad deeds out weigh your good deeds, you go to Hell. God is all Pure and Holy. The Father can be said to be greater than the Son pertaining to their relation within the inner life of God, but not with respect to their shared nature as being fully and equally God. The Father alone is the first principle of life in the Godhead. One part of the Bible is NOT more important than the other so it must be read in its entirety b/c there are verses taht prove Jesus is God proving he has a human&divine nature.
Once the Bible was corrupted, God sent Muhammad (pbuh) and the Qu'ran along with the message that this was the last messenger and the last holy book to be sent to us. The Qu'ran was promised to never be corrupted since God would watch out for it since there will be no more holy texts after this.

Muhammad was the one who taught that garbage after his hullucination in 610AD. The only difference with Jews and Christians (RC&Orthodox) are the 7 deutroncanical books after 90AD at the Jewish Council of Jamnia after that the other 39 books are the same, while the RCC&Orthodox Church have 46books in the Old Testament similar to Christ's time.
The OLD Testament says itself, that the Bible had been corrupted. Just the OLD Testament was corrupted. And the NEW Testament, Jesus' teachings from the gospel, is the correction return to the origin.

Once the Torah was corrupted, God sent Isa (Jesus, pbuh) and the Bible. We believe that in that day and age anyone that believed in the uncorrupted Bible were Muslims and that the myth that Jesus is God's son was again put in teh bible by man, this corrupting it. The one's who believed in the corrupted Bible are now Christians (including however many branches there are) and the ones who still believed in the original Bible, the uncorrupted one are still Muslims in our eyes
God sent down the Torah and at first everyone believed in it's exact words. We consider those people Muslim. Then man changed the Torah, the followers of that changed Torah became Jews and the ones who still believed in the original script remained faithful (or Muslims for us. The original followers of the Torah were Muslims in our eyes). The ones who still follow the corrupted Torah are Jews in this age

I have recently learned something about God putting a veil(in a sense) over the Jews eyes, as to lead them astray temporarily so that gentiles can come into faith? Jesus never said outright that he WAS god, but there are many verses from the old testament that explain why God is to come in human form and prophesying who this messiah would be, who in fact turned out to be Jesus Christ ... @199252208 i think because of the holy spirit, christians experience something so powerful. when we were singing praise songs the other week, i was literally shaking my legs, i dont know why! christians, we can sing, yell and dance for the lord. our music ranges from heavy mental to hymns, its so broad. we are not restricted as islam. women and men are equal, and democracy is founded on christianity.

Again, I'm not insisting that everyone misuses religion. But look at the statistics. In the USA, over 50% of people completely reject the idea of evolution... the problem is, almost all of these people have no idea what it even is! They think it's a monkey giving birth to a human. Not to get into that argument, but people should at least learn about what they refuse. Too many people reject even learning about science because it might threaten their personal beliefs.

It promotes discrimination and hate of those who aren't believers. It contains genocides and deaths by the one you call your creator, flagging it as okay. Even the amendement "though shall not murder" doesn't imply you can't kill... it just implies you can't kill unjustly - where justification is gladly provided by the bible.

Modern developed countries suffer from the drawbacks of religions. Education, acceptance, social and scientific progress, all being suppressed in the name of religion. Maybe you're right and humanity wouldn't be any more moral without religion, but it would lift the excuses, and let's face it, science wouldn't be so stubbornly held back.

First, have you actually read the bible? The whole thing is a bloodbath. Maybe you don't interpret it that way, but it can easily be (and historically WAS) interpreted as a violent religion.
Second, dictators are bad, I agree, and should be eliminated. But religion serves as an excuse for everyone - not just the dictators - to act badly. We don't get terrorism from North Korea... we do from the Middle Easy. See the difference?

God will judge on "effort and repentance" not "merit". It doesn't make sense for God to create man knowing full well that all-mankind will sin only to have his innocent son killed. @hguyon He against whom the sin is committed, is required to forgive the sin. For i.e. if some one commits a rape. This sin is against the rape woman and also against to God (breaking His law), hence it has to be forgiven by both, the God and the rape victim.
I think the underlying question is answered, when I say that if some one asks forgiveness from God, repent on his previous behavior and tries to be steady on the right path from now on.
God has promised to forgive these people.

I know both the Bible and the Quran. If we follow Islam, on judgement day, ur sins will be Judged on a Mizan (scale). When you are judged, if your good deeds out weigh your bad deeds, you go to heaven, but if your bad deeds out weigh your good deeds, you go to Hell. God is all Pure and Holy. Sin cannot dwell with him. Not even one sin. Therefore you need Atonement for ur sins. The Law states U need blood from a unblemished lamb or goat. Muslims.....Where is your Atonement for Sins?

The Father can be said to be greater than the Son pertaining to their relation within the inner life of God, but not with respect to their shared nature as being fully and equally God. The Father alone is the first principle of life in the Godhead. One part of the Bible is NOT more important than the other so it must be read in its entirety b/c there are verses taht prove Jesus is God proving he has a human&divine nature.

Once the Bible was corrupted, God sent Muhammad (pbuh) and the Qu'ran along with the message that this was the last messenger and the last holy book to be sent to us. The Qu'ran was promised to never be corrupted since God would watch out for it since there will be no more holy texts after this.

Muhammad was the one who taught that garbage after his hullucination in 610AD. The only difference with Jews and Christians (RC&Orthodox) are the 7 deutroncanical books after 90AD at the Jewish Council of Jamnia after that the other 39 books are the same, while the RCC&Orthodox Church have 46books in the Old Testament similar to Christ's time.

Once the Torah was corrupted, God sent Isa (Jesus, pbuh) and the Bible. We believe that in that day and age anyone that believed in the uncorrupted Bible were Muslims and that the myth that Jesus is God's son was again put in teh bible by man, this corrupting it. The one's who believed in the corrupted Bible are now Christians (including however many branches there are) and the ones who still believed in the original Bible, the uncorrupted one are still Muslims in our eyes

I have recently learned something about God putting a veil(in a sense) over the Jews eyes, as to lead them astray temporarily so that gentiles can come into faith? (I'm not too sure about this, i read a quick article on it tonight). There is no need for other holy books from God because everything is covered within the Bible. Jesus never said outright that he WAS god, but there are many verses from the old testament that explain why God is to come in human form and prophesying who this messiah would be, who in fact turned out to be Jesus Christ ... @jenforyou mother Mary is not just putting a piece of material on her head sister. she's fully covered & dressed like a muslim woman. u can't deny that. it is for such dress that muslims call 'hijab'. tell me sister isn't mother Mary supposed to be a role model for us? what she wore was something that is supposed to be liked by God & approved by Jesus(pbuh). she is a true 'muslim' woman and she is the honoured mother of the holy prophet Jesus(pbuh).

Btw, I think the title of this video/ documentury is wrong and chosen ignorantly. You shouldnt put religions against each other. Even more when they are/ were reliogions of our Lord. This might be motivations for some people here to start a big fight. Thats the last thing we want. Bad thing...Sallamu alaykum.

However , I have to disagree with Shadids opinion because when he said that they were playing and singing this is normal in Christianity because they want to be happy and feel good and praise the lord not just to sit and talk or to be on a carpet . Christianity is also about emotions . Christians trying to do their best to help u as they can and they will never punish by any law such as sharia law etc. Nevertheless , if that guy didnt see anything thats his issue and it doesnt mean anything.

@199252208 i think because of the holy spirit, christians experience something so powerful. when we were singing praise songs the other week, i was literally shaking my legs, i dont know why! christians, we can sing, yell and dance for the lord. our music ranges from heavy mental to hymns, its so broad. we are not restricted as islam. women and men are equal, and democracy is founded on christianity.

and also in this time its all abt money it is just a business which is not fair . Im a christian and Im proud I love Jesus as he created me ! I have some muslim friends but , they always telling me that they feel unfree as they have strictly rules. Anyway , I never heard abt christian terrorist or even though cutting somebody's head off which also comes from Islam !! Everywhere is something bad even in Christianity and Islam . @199252208 hey! its cool your christian! i hope ur relationship with god through christ grows and continues to prosper:) yes of course everyone sins. its the human condition. all christians and jews sin. however the difference is, that in islam, there religion wants them to sin, and have inequality. in christianity it doesent, it condones this. cause jesus died for all of us equally and showed compassion and love. when allah wants jihad, and women to be lowered by sharia law.

@199252208 This is getting tedious. Non-muslims keep on saying Allah. They keep on thinking He is some moon god. That dissapoints me. Allah is simply the ARABIC word for God. How do you think Arabic Christians say god? Yes indeed, Allah. I dont want to hate or something. Just want to explain. Christians should believe what they want and leave muslims alone. Muslims vice versa. I know Islam is Truth and I hope most people will see It as well someday, cuz we all deserve Heaven. Sallaamu alaykum.

@199252208 yes of course. i actually never knew that islam had anything to do with christianity or judaism. its only this year i found out the quaran has similar prophets as the bible. it was so weird! also finding out the quaran came 600 years after jesus and thousands of years after the old testament..
i wanted to find out about islam like u, such as jihad, and sharia law and muhammad havin a 6 yr old wife. its kinda sad

@jenforyou Dissapointed you talk about my religion and that of billions of people like that. You can definetly have your own opinion, yet it is based on wrong things. You clearly havent read the Quran. You clearly dont know what Jihad means. If you wouldve read It, you'd know Islam absolutely doesnt lower women. In fact It says women should be able to choose their husbands, study and earn their own money. Read Quran before u say things you dont know about.

Refuse to have sex with women from whom you fear rebellion, and scourge them. 4:34Women are feeble and are unable to devise a plan. 4:98"Unto the male is the equivalent share of two females." 4:176. the thing is when christ died for us, he died for all of us, reinstating our equality, i hope u see that one day.

And Jesus didnt die on the cross, however its no use to argue about that, cuz we'll never agree on that. Dont bless me ;) it's God, not god. Maybe reflects how you look up to Him.

@jenforyou I'll continue my post here...HOWEVER it is a CULTURAL principe that men stand above women. Unfortunately that has alway been the case. In Christian and Jewish countries as well. It has nothing to do with Islam. Allah(God) says that the muslims should put their traditions and culture aside and only follow Islam and Quran. Unfortunately, people havent always been doing that. Dont blame Islam for being the reason some muslims do that. Sallamu alaykoum

Well this is the endless story !! Like to choose what is better Jesus or Allah? Well I think that every muslim and christian ppl will protect their religion because nobody will say 'For example : Im a muslim/christian but , dont believe that something does exist like this or persuade you to dont come to church it doesnt make an sense because if u believe in Jesus or Allah you will follow what u r ! Finally , I think that every one has own right what to choose and it is up to u what u will choose

Why do you muslims pray by putting your face to the ground? FYI Jesus prayed like that to so did Moses and Abraham..i know you dont believe me and you dont know jack shit so here is some verses from your bible that you dont know shit about!
And he (Jesus) went a little further, and FELL ON HIS FACE, and prayed MATTHEW 26:39
"And they (Moses and Aaron) FELL upon their FACES NUMBERS 20:6
And Abraham FELL on his face GENESIS 17:3
These are prophets of God that prayed like we do and you DONT

@StuntWorkz yes muslims do alot fo things christians and jews do. they believe in alot of stuff we do as well..why? because the quaran came thousands of years after the old testament and 600 years after the new testament. so of course theres alot of similarities. cause muhammad copied many things from the holy bible.

@jenforyou Funny you say Muhammad copied things form the Bible yet he forgot to mention that Jesus is God..Since Jesus never claimed that he is God there is no reason for Muhammad to cope that.
Word trinity is not mentioned once in Bible yet it is mentioned in Quran. Jesus did say that he will ask father to send a helper to tell the truth about God and will glorify me (Jesus). Well Muhammad did just that, mentioned Jesus 500% more times then him self and glorified him and his return.
