Cool, it's a relief to see someone that knows how to play and gets the soul of the track. Most of the covers of this song just leave me depressed. By the way the people trying to criticise this guys tone are completely off base. This is how the solo would actually sound if you soloed it on the track.............nicely done
Very cool, but if you don't lose those EMG pick ups and locking nut (on a maple neck Strat!!) I will have to kill you. Bring back the Strat tone please!
Well, that Strat tone is good enough for David Gilmour as he finds the Evans pick ups quite adequate, not to mention how quiet and responsive they are, and Mr. Clapton is known to use them as well. It makes me wonder if you'd say that to him? There's more to a guitar's tone than the pick ups as well, but this sounds as about as Strat like as you want in comparison to the tune he is emulating.
Great tutorial A1. I've played it before over the years in bands but have always approximated the solo as I just never really sat down and listened and worked it out exactly and it's been at least 20 years since I did it in a band regularly. Being the only guitar player in the old band I would do the George Harrison bit exactly and then the solo, start off the same and then do my own thing in the 'style'. This new band is a strict by the book covers so this has saved me loads of time. Excellent
i thought your tone was really good
