Great sound! I have the same amp since about a year. I had some troubles tweaking it to the right tone and did not use it for a while (I have six amps).
Even after retubing (V1: JJ ECC803S, V2: JJ ECC83S, V3: EH 12AX7A, Output: Mullard RI EL84 Cryo) I did not really adore the tone, still to much mids and too bold bass.
Finally, I replaced one of the original speakers with a Celestion Century Vintage. And now it's one of the greatest amps I ever heard, live in concert or on records.
@zundap100 Hi -Thanks for that. At the momemnt I'm playing it through an old 4x12 in the studio I practice in and it sounds even better! Love Peace Respect and Hope to you.
Cool :) I'm looking at switching to a Laney L20H or L5T at the moment - what cab are you using there with the amp out of interest, looks like a 1x12 of a different make. Your other guitarists got a nice 'Stones lead sound going on too, what amp is he running through ? Nice sound ... will keep an eye out for your gigs :)
Hey, that's some awesome tone going on there. Do you run anything in the loop? If you don't, you might want to try a patch cable to jumper the loop... :D
@ollyworld It's all preference, but it does give a bigger and clearer sound, and slightly more gain. Even if you don't need the extra gain, it does give you more clarity, which is great in my book...
@ollyworld All I did was get a good quality patch cable, and ran the signal out from the send jack and into the return jack, which is jumpering the effects loop basically. You should try it out for yourself. It's great if you don't use the effects loop like I do on mine...
At the moment we have decided to go without.Had one previously and he wanted to be a guitar player, not a bass player so over-complicated things. Just want a simple plodder of a bass player!! On our EP, Max Bisgrove laid down a bass track, and it sounds good -but he's a very busy man - so he can't do it regularly.Love, peace respect and hope.
very nice, that's some great tone your catching

Very nice tone. Laney Lionheart L20H is the King. I use it with Vox Cab and it sounds fantastic.

Hi, I'm using a Laney Cab 2x10 -gives quite a nice tight sound. Rob -is playing lead guitar through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. Thanks for comment.

Hi there,
At the moment we have decided to go without.Had one previously and he wanted to be a guitar player, not a bass player so over-complicated things. Just want a simple plodder of a bass player!! On our EP, Max Bisgrove laid down a bass track, and it sounds good -but he's a very busy man - so he can't do it regularly.Love, peace respect and hope.
