question: everyone talks about this adhesive tape between the screen and lcd unit they say not to remove it, but I found that tape on amazon, can I remove the old and just add new one?

Ok so my phone screen broke two days ago shattered so bad =(. The screen was sharp so I believed that i I took of the screen I could use the lcd monitor as a screen but I was wrong. so I used my debit car n neatly took it off but as soon as I realize the 2nd screen didnt touch I tried to put it back on lol. But now my phone lcd screen doesnt show anything the phone powers on n I hear texts coming thru but its not showing the screen. What do I do? Help Please!!!

hey if youre screen is cracked does it mean the lcd display screen is also cracked too? or could it just be the outer OEM screen like you showed at 1:38?

@TheUncertainPerson no my friend ---- if the interior screen is cracked the lcd liquid come's out and u start to see dead pixel on an LCD screen -- sorry for my spelling im a latino from nyc ..

@sistematic1 thanks man, and so liquid came out of yours? i dropped mine and it has like a few cracks but the screen still works fine, and some guy is sayings its gonna be 80 to fix it, should i just buy a oem screen with tools for like 20??

So relax, man, the music was garbage, end of story. The fixing content of the video was good though.

how can you tell if you need a wide flex or narrow flex screen?

@Ayyitschris Look at the sticker on the back of the LCD. The serial number will be 2V6A for the narrow cable, 2WCA for the more rare wide cable

I liked this in particular because this is the first of four to show how to put the new screen in. Since I don't know much at all about how to repair my own device I feel confident seeing it through. AND I enjoyed jamming to the music. props

@clarens56 there are 2 types of screen for the evo ---u have to check if ur evo screen has a Wide Flex Cable or narrow flex cable !

I did all that, but the bottom four buttons aren't working. There were four small plastic things in the old screen that I tried to attach to the new screen, the lights turn on the bottom four buttons but they don't function. Any suggestions/ ideas?

Great vid, i am thinking of doing this myself, but did your kit come with some sort of adhesive for the screen??? and putting back the 3 ribbons part, is that easy too???
