  • "I learned about these issues in 1973." Meaning that he didn't even know that the Armenians accused Turkey of such a thing. This shows how the Turkish government deliberately banned this subject to allow the population to forget it, so that when the time to reveal it would come, an empty brain on this subject would be easier to fill with brainwash. The Kurds haven't forgotten. They tell their children how their grandparents killed Armenians, and they apologize for it.

  • May be because Turks were looking forward, or Turks were naive and could not expect Armenians might use a distorted edition of history, be fixated to the past, and teach hatred and revenge? We know about relocation (tehcir) and tragic events that affected all parties badly. Also, Turks repeatedly asked Armenians to establish a joint committee to get the facts and face the truth. So far Armenians declined, possibly were scared to loose the only tool to keep them united.

  • As long as the United States backs Turkey, Armenians will refuse to talk about it. Politicians know very well how to distort history. This is clearly seen in the Turkish government. Would you show passion and love for a person who killed your parents? No, you would want revenge. But Armenians don't even want revenge. They want you to confess, in the name of justice. It's hard to act according to justice with fascists, though.

  • "As long as the United States backs Turkey...". Another misleading claim by an Armenian. FYI. Armenia receives the most US aid per capita, and Armenian lobby in US and other countries mislead and exploit (American) taxpayers money, so does their empathy. What a pathology.

  • Sure, they also say that they will not recognize the genocide as long as Turkey is useful to them.

  • "But Armenians don't even want revenge". Another example of Armenian propaganda machine. Armenians took revenge during, before and after WWI. Today, there a hundreds of ziyarets in Turkey, dedicated to the victims of Armenian butchers. In 1970s and 80s, Armenians murdered innocent Turkish diplomats and local bystanders, including an RCMP officer that his only mistake was to protect Turkish embassy as any host country does. Khojaly massacre and ethnic cleansing just took place in 1992.

  • Armenians took revenge on Turkey for the genocide before the genocide ever happened. Right. Sure Turks died. There's no doubt about it. Armenian resistance against Turkish suppression resulted in such deaths, like everywhere else in WWI. Hamidian massacre also happened before WWI, you fail to mention that. Those ziyarets are a result of the Turkish government's tactics to return the genocide to Armenians.

  • Don't change the subject. We're talking about the Armenians Genocide. The bullshit khojaly massacre is a scheme Azerbaijan uses to make its population angry at us. Azeri president Heydar Aliyev HIMSELF said "The bloodshed will do us good." The civilians who died in Khojaly were a result of Azeri soldiers ambushing Armenians from within their own people. They were shot at, as opposed to the beheadings and burning alive in front of family members Azeris committed in Maraghar when they captured it.

  • "khojaly massacre is a scheme Azerbaijan uses to make its population angry at us", "The civilians who died in Khojaly were a result of Azeri soldiers..". Seriously Arzive, you need a realty check.

  • lol ok master.

  • By the way, very convincing argument there, YoungTurkCanada.

  • Turks and Azeris know very well how ethnic cleansing works. The Karabakh war was a a counter-ethnic cleansing. Go read some non-Turkish history books. Ethnic cleansing is written all over Turkey's face (including Nakhitchevan and Karabakh).

  • Look at this guy trying to make the Turkish name so soft, so nice. "Poor Turks! They wouldn't even imagine that Armenians would want to get revenge on them for doing nothing! That's why honourable great Turk Demir Delen didn't know about it, he never suspected someone could be so cruel with such a yumuşak government like Turkey!" Yeah, sure. It's also for nothing that every neighbour takes the same side against Turkey. They hate Turkey for the same reason: it steals, it murders, and denies it

  • "It's not illegal to talk about the genocide." Another lie by telling the truth.

Hrant Dink's murderer given a Turkish flag by their police, being welcomed with open arms in prison, with luxurious food, and a 5 star hotel-like prison cell, as if a national hero, is legal.

Condemning and exiling historians who speak up is legal.

Being threatened day and night for mentioning the events of 1915 is legal.

Of course, after accepting all this, talking about the Armenian Genocide in Turkey is legal.

  • Hahaha. "Now Turkey's trying to be -- umm -- you know -- trying to get - welcomed in the Western family of nations."

He almost said 'democratic.' True, they're trying hard, but the fact that they're still trying proves that they still are not.

  • Sadly, TVO did not broadcast this interview and causes they claimed were ridicilus. Probably an example of pathologic victory of Armenian propaganda machinery derived from hate, revenge and lack of tolerance, and TVO is a victim of Arm. propaganda machinery :(

  • Also you fail to mention the preconditions Turkey has placed on this "joint study".. Typical Turkish Denial...

  • Demir Delen you might be Armenian with that nose. Check your family history to make sure your grandfather did not rape any Armenian women during the Genocide as it happened frequently.

The people responsible were tried in absentia and found Guilty.

Also the Turkish deaths were mostly in the balkans and not by the Armenians..

Just like the Sudanese Liberation has killed some Janjanweed it doesn't mean that there is no Genocide in Darfur.

  • Col. Wooley, British officer, estimated the Armenians had killed 300,000-400,000 Muslims in Van and Bitlis alone. These and other cities are in the east, not the Balkans. Along with the mass killings, Armenians engaged in wholesale rape, often including very young girls, and torture. These are documented by friends of Armenians in contrast to Turkish crimes documented by hearsay. As for those found guilty in the 1919 mock trials by a puppet gov't: the British themselves rejected these findings.

  • This is a perfect example of double killing the victims of the Armenian genocide.

Burn in hell Turkish deniers, burn in hell.
