@lemonhazeblaze I think the point is more showing people how to use the mechanics of Reason and how to build a song rather than to show you what notes to actually play.
@geraintpierce so if your a pro why you needing tutorials? he helping loads learn a program fella when u come back with a piece let me know i sit there and give constuctive criticicm like sounds crap. Erm why not say vbeats flat like kate mosses chest or muddy bass mate not sounds crap. pfffft forum fannies by double zero sums u up. "David your teas ready not now mum im just on the internet"
To be honest yes, it does sound like Pendulum. But that most drum and bass in general sounds like Pendulum so what's wrong with that? He nailed the genre on the head
Who cares if it sounds like pendulum, he made all the basses and synths himself, and then watching this to learn critise him, why don't you make a tutorial this explanitory on everything you do
just one one main thing i want to say. when it came to the drop, you only had it playing for about 8 or 16 bars or watever and then you went straight to a breakdown...thats weird. you seem to know alot about reason but your arrangement is off.
This series is amazing. It is packed with useful tips. I bought the dance music manual but find it so hard to take that information and use is usefully to create tracks. I use Sonar but you were clear enough so that I can transfer this using the step sequencer, sonar effects, beatscape and NI Massive. I have been baffled as to how artists create that rich complex sound in dnb and keep it interesting and stop it getting "muddy". This gives me a great start. I cant thank the author enough.
It's good in individual parts, but I kinda cant find a flow to it if you get me. Like the music's awesome, but some of the parts/sections don't really go. Almost like he's mixing different tracks. Maybe its just that the Drop seems like its a massive mismatch. Got some awesome tips tho. I'm feeling all creative now.
JesusChrist!!!.. mate you speak as crazy as the pointer moves around the screen, it seems it has its own life or a spirit has posessed your hand and your even noticed that :D !!!
I adore Reason and your tutorial is very good... But the results are ever "unprofessional" despite the efforts. why reason sounds ever flat? ( i talk of stereo placing and space feeling in depth ) hi frequencyes seems "cutted" and tangled themselves, even if I use quality samples? is all the fault of my mistakes in the mix?
Mate, you make a lot of very helpful tutorials, not exactly the kind of Drum and Bass that I like but who cares. Thanks a lot for the handy tips, I like to learn as much as I can, even though I know quite a bit about reason, you can always learn more (how else are you gonna get any better). Thanks for the tutorial Dave, really helpful stuff, all credit due to you mate. I have been making tracks on reason for years now but you have shown me stacks of stuff I didnt know, it's pretty damn tough to just find out how to use all the different fx etc if your self taught.
Honestly this dnb is not my cup of tea at all (mostly into Alix perez, spectrasoul, icicle and so) but you really kind to share your knowledge with us.big up!
:) but seriously, thanks a lot mate, i have been using reason for a few weeks and am absoloutely loving it. Passing on knowledge like this realy appreciated throughout the music industry. i have only just started making tunes but have been djing for a few years and my understanding of the sounds used has expanded greatly from your tutorials. keep it up dude !!!!!!
Im pretty sure hes making the basic of basic songs, if he were to give away all his secrets to making a sicker track, then joe blow the dj would be blowing up spots all over the world!
hey dave i like your tutorial. i posted a vid response any comments would be much appreciated. mainly final mix, clearer drums that sorta thing. cheers man :)
Great tutorials - learning so much from these! Like how you're not only getting inside a genre, but inside current trends within that genre too! spot on :)
Couldnt fit my whole response above lol. I would like to see tutorials on manipulating various sounds, the kind of stuff like the pitch bend routing fx you showed in the Thor instance. Thats the stuff I'd really like to get my teeth into. Also I would like to learn how to make sounds that talk to each other like Deadmau5' Ghost's n Stuff. Anyway, cheers again man, Legendary!!! :p

basically mr. andig97 has no balls or production skills for him to think that this guy here is talkin shit, hes the real dealo man, stop pretendin! people like you, arrogant, cocky cunts with no talent shouldn't listen to dnb man, get off your arse nd start postin some of your own original shit man, i hate people like you!
u must be going through that difficult stage of adolescense, i feel for u man i really do.. be strong and try not to let your nerves get a hold on you. Drink plenty of water every day and try to maintain a healthy diet... (p.s. your tunes are average.. at best. and what the fuck is JumpZlot haha)
i finally finished my try after seeing these tuts :D after twice before accidently deleting my masterpiece which would have sold millions, and then forgetting how i did it :( the finished product isnt as good as the 1st 1 i deleted :D but i still finished sth!!
