  • Could I use the glove for other tablets too? Like the Wacom Intuos4? Because I'm buying it soon and don't want to get it dirty (considering the price of it and everything), I appreciate the advice.

  • Would you recommend me to buy the screen Shield?

  • Hello DeviantRahll,

I have a wacom cintiq 12wx, and i have always used smudgeguard whilst drawing on my tablet, now, lately i discovered a SCRATCH! (about a cm in length) , and i feel kinda... insecure now, i'm afraid i will make more scratches the more i draw on it, and the problem is... i don't know how i made the scratch...

So i'm asking you now, do you have any problems with this? or is there a problem with the pen nibs or something?

Anyways, thanks for taking the time to read this!

    Arne.

  • @DrawASketch I've NEVER had a problem with scratches, and I've had my Cintiq for 3 years. First thing to make sure of is that you don't have a wrist watch on, or any jewelry. Also make sure your sleeves don't have buttons, or anything hard on them. Aside from that, make sure you change your nib regularly. If it gets too much of a sharp edge to it from extended use, it could potentially scratch the surface.

Like I said, 3 years, not one scratch.

  • @DeviantRahll and, do i have to buy new nibs when i run out of old nibs i already used?

    thanks :)

  • @DrawASketch Yes, you should buy new ones. You can get them directly on Wacom's website.

  • @DeviantRahll hmm :\ transport costs would be around 50$... Damn

  • @DeviantRahll You sure have to buy new ones! :D

How frequently do you change your nibs?

I'm almost running out of my stock nibs :)

  • I just sew me a smudge guard. Funny thing is, it also cleans the tablet while you are using it...

  • I gotta get one of those cause i'm lefty.

  • awesome!

  • Thanks for the vid I ordered one and it is awesome with my 21Ux. thanks again man

  • i have a question: y wud u need a SG when ur using a computer drawing tablet...if it is only sensitive 2 the pen..do ur fingers being on the screen even matter?..im kinda lost :[

  • @GladiatorBAlexander so your hand does not stick to the glass when you are trying to slide you hand on the screen

  • what cintiq is that?

  • @minime404 It's a Wacom Cintiq 12WX

  • @minime404 cintiq 12"

  • that looks very hand-y... ok terrible pun but there is some purpose to my comment. I was thinking about getting a cintiq 12wx and i am too lazy too look up but does it come with softare? [ie: photoshop....corell...etc...] and does the cintiq like show ur computer monitor like outside of the drawing program?

  • 15$ O_o Geez, I guss the smudgeguard is for cool people unlike me. I made my own by cutting a knit glove in half...

And in college we are not allowed to touch the paper with our hand when drawing. So no need for a SG =)

  • Hi, I was looking to buy one of these. However my hand is 3 and 8/16-9/16 inches. Now the sizing chart says the medium goes up to 3 and 7/16 and the large goes up to 3 and 13/16. Should I go with the medium? It wont be too tight, will it?

  • quick question.

how good of a computer would you need to have one of those/

  • You should check this guys deviantart account out. His work is Incredible.

  • Its funny... cos after u said the shower comment,,, ur face said "oh fuck I wish I hadnt said that..."

  • i have been waiting for a new video for like ever

  • You're so enthusiastic lol

I thought maybe you had tutorials on here but I guess not. Oh well. :)

  • wow seeing videos from u would be awesome! just found out ur YT channel lol xD!

  • Good idea to buy one for quality purposes. Does it make you think tho what kind of people makes these items, is there a factory for this? :P Anyway I am going to look for one in the local UK art shop. Hope they are cheap.

  • Check out this guys art on deviant, hes extremely talented. im doing a piece simular to his fearless painting, the detail in that is amazing!!

  • Interesting. I just rub my forehead all over the tablet (helps if i haven't showered for a few days) and it makes my hand glide smoothly without jitter.

  • dude, i like how you said you were thinking about doing tutorials and shit like that, for reals get that shit going man!

if not, take some more vids of your work, like full on look, and share it! but the tutorials, bring 'em already!!!

looking into a cintiq soon, would be nice to get some idea from someone with a good amount of talent drawing + on a wacom tablet(cintiq) :)

p.s. i like your work, good portfolio on deviantArt!

  • wacom+smudge guard=f*** that! It's like a fashion statement all in itself.

  • im going to get into this just for my own self, fuck the money, this is cool shit, i always wanted one of those fucker, makes drawing fu, whos the loser that typed loser? tool how is electronic art bad? fuck dude go read warn peace

  • lol, i just use a soft fiber glove, the ones they use to clean electronics.

  • This is so funny to me. I have a sock that I cut into the exact same configuration (except minus the pinkie glove) for the exact same purpose. I can't believe that my 'drawing sock' has a professional counterpart.

  • ahah drawing sock...

  • @PimpOfPixels you should claim patent then XD

  • Woah! I've never seen one of those before!.. Once I get good enough I'll prolly get one xDD;; I'm left handed too sooo.. It might help al lil.

  • :O i didnt knew about the existance of those lol, back in time i was used to wear a '' billiard globe'' for the same prupose ._.

  • The smudgeguard rocks.

  • I tried to sew one just like this years ago out of silk while still working in pencil. I'll definitely get one, thanks a lot for the video! You would pass for a salesman btw... :)

  • that looks like a cool glove. Sept' it doesn't keep you warm.

  • Tutorials, yeeeeaaaah, wheeeeeeee =-]

  • very useful video :D

  • I guess this is a good investment for me,and really any artist who smudges with his traditional and uses tablets I guess.

  • Ive just realised (slightly off-topic), that if you shaved your beard completely, you would bear great resemblance to my art teacher. O.o

Anyways, great vid, thanks for the info!
