Hey i got a question for ye', I have a charger bass boat with a 250 h.p. merc. It tops out at 90 mph and gets there pretty fast but getting up on plane, it's like the power is cut out on it or something. Is there some kind of electronic level sensor in the motor or something that cuts power for safety or something?

That's probably because a (too) high pitched prop. The higher the pitch on a prop, the higher your theoretical topspeed gets but the harder it is to spin in on speed, espaccially getting up on plane is harder than before.

There is a rev limiter in the ignition system, install a prop with more pitch.
