we are the best

i would say that musicianship is being sacrificed for choreography but in this case, i'm totally confused as to where either are. music today is clearly suffering in public schools. when there are this many young adults wanting to learn, its a shame that this is all they are given

the highstepping isnt all that great.

its basically a bunch of people walking around, blasting.

If you say members of highstepping bands "just walk around" your WRONG!! you see highstepping bands march at a 90 degree knee lift toes pointed down and as you march you drive your foot into the ground creating momentum that will force you to pop a 90 as you march.. Dont get the wrong idea, highstepping showstyle bands DONOT endorse blasting, simply making sure that each and every member of the unit is playing at a FULL volume to produce a FULL sound..

i know what high stepping is, but meadowcreek doesn't do it well.

at all.

the FULL sound gives them a BAD tone.

I'm not saying that all of the people are bad, its just the few people that ruin all of it.

at this show, the band seems more like a background song as the announcer COMPLETELY overshadows them with the announcements,that's what programs are for.

once again, i didnt mean for you to take offense to that.

I see what you mean about the band being drowned out. Simply its the beggining of the season, we have ALOT of young players in the band that need to mature on their horns. #1 lack of confidence, #2 Not everyone is playing.. thats really it.

The thing i dont understand is why people tend to criticize us alot. Like sure, were different, sure our band is not perfect we are a growing program just like everybody else that has their ups and downs, but people still feel the need to talk trash. It doesnt really phase us anyway cause at the end of the day the only thing that matters is WHO the crowd likes.."why do we perform? To entertain!"
