@86gt50levitt launching a corvette is not so easy, most people don't know how but even still, the stang only pulled ahead by 1 car (barely) and the corvette blew past it by several cars long before the Mustang was anywhere near it's top end. That's what really happened & why the mustang guy said "Wow". They didn't just get beat, they got their asses kicked! if you go by the numbers the vette took 12 seconds to pull ahead by 2 cars. Meaning he was doing less than 109Mph

@bad65stang I had a 95 5.0 and have a 95 C4 so I know a little something about this. The 5.0 performs nowhere near the LT1 which will give a C5 LS1 a good fight by the way. that money you're considering investing in a fox body can go towards a 92 -96 6 speed C4 corvette and you will get way more bang for your buck plus handling & a much more reliable car that's easier to work on. There really is no comparison. The Stang also needs the rear differential fluid changed way too often.

@bad65stang Even if you can't find one for 5K you can also get an L98 and that's faster than a Stang too. plus With a few mods you can get it to perform like an LT1. Just don't get the 84. As for the Rear DIF it starts as a sound in the rear. I didn't notice it till my warranty was out. Prior to that the dealership always serviced it. But I meet many mustang owners who complained about the same thing.

Top speed doesn't mean that much to anyone. The corvette get up to 200 faster than the GT so, to me and pretty much everyone else, the ZR-1 is still faster.

The A-arms are used to fully control the movement of the wheels. dude depends on the driver. if he has an 05 5 spd with 3.55 gears he could hit mid 13's. you should hit mid 13's also. if you got a 6spd. ford claim a 0-60 at 4.9 sec. chevy claims the 5.2. but the ls1 has the edge on a rolling start. your 40-100 is .5 sec faster than the mustang so thats like 1 and hal cars. but really is how goos you drive vs how good he drives

foot brake it. take off in a low gear and shift the tranny yourself. if not get a tranny brake installed. change the rear end gears to 4.11 and some drag radials and keep it a secret and trust me you will break in the 12's without even touching your engine.

I'm shifting just before redline each time, i have 3:73 gears so it revs quick, the Vette is a 12.6 sec car, that's almost half a second faster than me at the track.. We're roomates and we were just out having fun... Ha not to mention my 3800 lb Conv, that doesn't help the cause either

@86gt50levitt launching a corvette is not so easy, most people don't know how but even still, the stang only pulled ahead by 1 car (barely) and the corvette blew past it by several cars long before the Mustang was anywhere near it's top end. That's what really happened & why the mustang guy said "Wow". They didn't just get beat, they got their asses kicked! if you go by the numbers the vette took 12 seconds to pull ahead by 2 cars. Meaning he was doing less than 109Mph

@bad65stang I had a 95 5.0 and have a 95 C4 so I know a little something about this. The 5.0 performs nowhere near the LT1 which will give a C5 LS1 a good fight by the way. that money you're considering investing in a fox body can go towards a 92 -96 6 speed C4 corvette and you will get way more bang for your buck plus handling & a much more reliable car that's easier to work on. There really is no comparison. The Stang also needs the rear differential fluid changed way too often.

@bad65stang Even if you can't find one for 5K you can also get an L98 and that's faster than a Stang too. plus With a few mods you can get it to perform like an LT1. Just don't get the 84. As for the Rear DIF it starts as a sound in the rear. I didn't notice it till my warranty was out. Prior to that the dealership always serviced it. But I meet many mustang owners who complained about the same thing.

Thanks brother, I had a friend up lately with a cammed Z06. He was tough but I was comming out on top. Car was wicked fast though. I need a tune, so I plan on seeing Chuck Cow real soon. Dude, I've owned both a 99 z06 and and 04 cobra I would much rather have the z06 anyday but when I bought my z06 I bought it new with 600 miles costed me 38,000 witch isn't bad for the many miles I would beat any cobra I raced, which I did have a cold air intake system and programer, But now I drive and 2010 Taho lol, I'm done with the racing shit for awhile.

I'm a Ford Guy and know your favorite car better than you do - The Corvette has double A-arm suspension like many other high end sports cars. The A-arms are used to fully control the movement of the wheels. The only difference between the Corvette and other cars with A-arms is the Corvette uses a leaf to pull the lower arm down rather than a coil spring to push it down. In both cases the spring is doing what it does best, being a only a spring. Man I bet you feel like an idiot now.

i have modified cars and trucks no personal cars of mine but i have helped twin turbo a 1998 mustang gt and single turboed a 2008 silverado im more of a n/a guy really though i have a 496 stroker in a 1966 step side chevy with 738 to the wheels with a ford 9" rear end and and ill be buying my dads 1969 mustang in April its got a 460 cobra jet pushing over 900 and havent spent near as much as i would on a vette and but of these will kill the new z06. & my dd is a 06 roush mustang

dude depends on the driver. if he has an 05 5 spd with 3.55 gears he could hit mid 13's. you should hit mid 13's also. if you got a 6spd. ford claim a 0-60 at 4.9 sec. chevy claims the 5.2. but the ls1 has the edge on a rolling start. your 40-100 is .5 sec faster than the mustang so thats like 1 and hal cars. but really is how goos you drive vs how good he drives

foot brake it. take off in a low gear and shift the tranny yourself. if not get a tranny brake installed. change the rear end gears to 4.11 and some drag radials and keep it a secret and trust me you will break in the 12's without even touching your engine.

I'm shifting just before redline each time, i have 3:73 gears so it revs quick, the Vette is a 12.6 sec car, that's almost half a second faster than me at the track.. We're roomates and we were just out having fun... Ha not to mention my 3800 lb Conv, that doesn't help the cause either
