the bike doesn't look like its trying too hard. my bike isn't as fast as a fireblade but it climbs up the gears far faster than the saab. check out the other youtube videos to see standard bikes absolutely thrashing supercars (at any speed!).

@BigScreenScene saabs are faster than supercars :) theres a guy on the forum im on that has a saab 9000 with a sub 4 second 60-100mph, which is Z06 / Ford GT hypercar territory, all for under £10,000. people that dont have saabs dont appreciate how fast they are.

I'm so tired of seeing super tuned vehicles put against stock bikes. i'm now looking for a video of a van in which a turbo charged 7 ltr. V8 has been placed to see what result would be obtained against a standard mini cooper in a 1/4 mile drag race, just as predictable and boring i guess

Nobody seems to realize the saab isnt stock, and frankly if you dont realize that your dumb. At higher speeds a car with a high displacement engine will have no trouble running with a bike, OF ANY KIND. Sure bikes are lighter and accelerate like WHOA but at highway speeds pulling in a TUNED Saab (which is front wheel drive and therefore has the lowest amount of drive train loss about 10-15% as opposed to a AWD or RWD car which can fall between 20-35%) is enough competition for most bikes.

@borderwave2 No crap, do you know anything about displacement? The engine is smaller yes but produces around 600 hp i believe if you look at the maptun site. Evos are 2.0 liter as well, would you call those slow? Or how about a STI those used to be only 2.0 liter, and still are only 2.0 liter in japan. In the U.S. they are now 2.5. Look smaller engines weigh less and with forced induction upgrades make mincemeat of most anything. Just search for Nordic Tuned Saab, and see what some tuning does.

@borderwave2 and just so you know your referring to the Liters of the engine, displacement is measured by how much air can be compressed in the total of all combined cylinders. With forced induction that = high displacement. Complex formula, look it up online if ya want.

I just bought a 1995 Saab 900S 2.3 and I love it, really nice car to drive, great acceleration...especialy in higher gears at low revs, but a Fireblade should still whip the Saab as it should have a top speed of close to 180mph, totally out of the Saab's range, bikes lack some aerodynamics but the loss in weight makes up for a lot, even a 400cc honda will make 0-60mph in under 5 seconds, may only top 120 but a 900 will make 170 without too much hassle, you'd want a very fast car to catch that.

old car- old bike =) if u would take a 2008 or 2009 fireblade and a 2009 saab u will see that the saab has abolutley no chance (on a straight road) because 10 years ago motorcycles werent even close to the point the r today.i think its a 150ps fireblade. today its 180ps. 30ps on a motorcycle is a lot. but nice video anyway

I love Saabs (not ones made by gm0 and I used to own a eagle talon tsi fwd (yes fwd) turbo... I saw your guage, your car was accelerating too slow. Maybe if you pushed 30 psi with min 94 octane gas plus octane booster you might get close to a slower bike. Sorry, but a will beat a car any day. Power vs weight. A Bugatti only can do that.

actually I do know what I'm talking about. I don't only have an engineering backround but every car I've ever owned I've built from ground up. So if you're telling me you raced a 900cc bike, you'rebullshitting. I saw the speedometer aswell and it was ok, but not that fast compared to a bike. I also used to street race in Toronto Canada, so I had my share and leaving that to all the new guys. I love SAABs but they will never be that fast.

I know about the Fireblade..tell that to "SWAGGER93".. that bike has a reputation. Saab is a marvelous car but it's known for it's structural strength and not it's speed. I'll die driving a SAAB or riding a Ducati 996 (I like edition because of old memories), that's how much I love good designs and speed. I own a saab 900 turbo sport convertible. I use to work for a saab repair shop, and the valuable lesson I learned is that saabs are not for those that dont know anything about cars. All you need to do is check you levels, and take it in when ever and those cars are very reliable. There are several saab spg's that has taken their original owners past the 1,000,000 mile mark with all original parts. Saabs are good for those that know how to take care of cars.
