This Billy and Gordon Jenkins collaboration rivals that of the Nat Cole/Jenkins collaboration on Stardust and When I Fall in Love. Pop music at its all time best.
When I wanted a really sensual song for one of my videos this is the one I went for. No-one else's version of this even comes close in my opinion. There are just a handful of singers who really emote when they sing, Billie Holiday, Michael Jackson, Luciano Pavarotti, Charles Aznavour and Edith Piaf, all sadly now gone.
ha ha everyone is here for Watchmen! That's exactly why I came. I read the novel again and noticed it was in there. They should of use this in (a less revealing, goofy) sex scene in the watchmen film.
it's so fitting for that particular scene in watchmen.... the owl ship hovering in the night sky over the city as there's a building burning nearby. zack snyder should pay good attention to this detail.
It speaks of blind sexual obsession amd the hopelesness of love and loneliness.
If you have ever wanted and loved so desperately. It's all here in Billie's voice and the haunting instrumental arrangement. Thank you for posting this.
Ah, the wonderful Lady Day! words of description are superfluous, one can only listen and marvel at the genius of this melancholy diva.

I obsessed like this once. Never again. But it was really lovely at the time, to be intoxicated this way. But the aftermath was devestating.
