only use UPS if you want your stuff destroyed. They always tell us that misloads are why people switch to FedEx. I think it is probably the fact that 1 out of 5 packages gets crushed or broken. Oh how I love seeing printer paper scattered across my slide.
Loading cars isn't an easy job...I'm a preloader and I work 3rd shift loading 6 cars all night....all of us get our asses kicked all night...there's nothing wrong with trying to enjoy yourself a few moments at night
@graley99 Where I live, the preload I'm on is the only full time 8 hr preload in my district. For those who split the belt, they have 3 maybe 4 cars. Those in the middle of the belt have 5, some have 6...and if you're in a stop bar position, you most likely have 6 cars. Not sure where you're from but if you're on a 4hr preload..then yes 4 is the most. On my 8hr shift there is anywhere from 3 to 6.
@graley99 I couldn't agree more. "I load 6 cars" is a bunch of crap. If there are 6 vans that have 150 pkgs each truck, then someone needs to come in and re-engineer that building. UPS isn't that stupid.
@scottyprimetime wow ok u try working 3-9 am everyday loading shit that weighs from 1 lb to 100 lbs. aint easy. all my trucks have 300-400 packages everyday, thats considered heavy. its good to have some fun, and go ahead, use fedex, one less package, the happier i am.
@scottyprimetime you're absolutely right. people shouldnt be allowed to have any fun on the job. i wish you were my boss so you could tell me when i could piss and shit and take my 10 min lunch break.
man i wish we had that much fun at our building, our supervisor would probably have a fit like he does every morning and dont let our center manager see that...he'd probably fire you right on the spot...hard asses
this video can get you fired, if your building refuses video surviellance.

great camera work, almost know what is going on.

Talk to a shop steward... It only matters on the package count, not how many trucks you have... I've had 6 cars, but with an avg of 150-180 pkgs each

I guess that explains why I didn't get my package. The preloaders were too busy screwing around. I'll use FedEx next time.

Was riding down a moving belt not covered in the safety meeting?
scottyprimetime 2 years ago
You're right, they shouldn't be doing that but don't think for a minute that doesnt happen at fedex at all.
UPS01201 2 years ago 2
@UPS01201 you dont load 6 cars. im a sup. pulls are 3 cars 4 max, no way ud be able to handle the flow of a 6 car pull.

That looks like a tiny hub. At least they let you bring in your cell phones. At our hub they banned part time workers from having cell phones.
