I gather that it not a 'God of War' hack and slash, but honestly it looks VERY slow (animation and fighting sytem) - enough to be a sort of a Sunday afternoon game when there's nothing on the TV - maybe I'm wrong, but I've thought about buying this a few times, only to be told it's very dated in appearance (maybe you can help me out?)

@RelativeBadger It is very worth it. Maybe at first you'll think "Wow I would be having more fun playing ninja gaiden" But then you see that I think every enemy, even the ones you find at the start, can one hit kill you. Dark/Demon's souls is the kind of game you'd grab in your free time, get angry for dying and losing all of your money and then feel a fuckload of dopamine after beating that one boss that was giving you trouble just now, because you (not the character) improved. I'd recommend it

@is4ias Thanks for the quick reply. Maybe I'll look into it. I never see a bad report on the game sites, but the comments underneath (Readers' reviews) sometimes say that it is overrated and give it a 6-7 - not everyone, but a few. I like the idea of the game, and having played God of War 1,2 and 3 I'm bored of those and the graphics are not overly impressive, especially as they only play out in 720p. Are you playing on an X-Box or PS3? Is it MUCH better than LOTR 'War in the North'?

@is4ias @is4ias I played LOTR-WITN and found it better than the reviews, but nowhere near as good as something like God of War 3 (but then again, I wasn't overly impressed with GoW 3 - it was ok but, just like all of the NHLs -it's just a shinier version of the others). I must look into Dark Souls. One other question: are your 360 games installed or do you just play them from disc, and does it REALLY make any difference?

@RelativeBadger I haven't tried to install any game into my xbox, since it's an arcade and hardly the new patch fits there. As far as I know, it really speeded up loading times in Black ops, not sure if it would do the same with other games.

@failerize Skyrim is a lame version of 'Little House on the Prairie' - boring; the same thing over and over and over and over and over again for 46 hours - and UNDOUBTEDLY the most bug-riddled game in the history of video games. Bethseda (or is it Bathshed? LOL) must have forked out thousands in payments to get its awards because even PacMan was more exciting (and had better grpahics).

Skyrim is boring after a while, same shit over and over again, almost all the dungeon's look the same and have the same creatures in them, and all the bugs o.o but some bugs can be funny thought, like the giant bugg, it was hilarious at first, but then it just got over viewed, theres atleast 30 diffrent videos on youtube of it

I don't think you can compare it to skyrim, maybe oblivion.

I haven't played this game yet but I'm about to download the demo.

I'm not going to hate on it or anything, but in skyrim you can do soooo much stuff.

There's like 300+ quests, you can make potions, enchant weapons and even make your own armor.

And let's not forget the shouts, they're awesome.

@belucheez It's called lock-on not aim assist and it's funny you should mention that because Dark Souls is still far more challenging than Skyrim.

I remember trying to kill those after i got into the fireshrink and founded a stair to get down there, hahah tried soul arrow, like 60 dmg XD

Lack of memory on ps3 killed this level, they just ported it over to 360 so it runs like shit too. Terriblt level. I guess it's all the lights, draw distance, enemies are all spawned too. If you don't look far away it runs fine but once you do look at the draw distance... Expect 20 fps or less. At one point it ran a 3 fps for me with 3 other players in the game :(

I'm cursed so can't reverse hollowing! running out of those herbs that heal poison and my drake sword broke just as i went into the boss area... now i'm well and trully stuffed, can't get help online cause i'm hollow, can't defeat quaalag cause all my weapons do pathetic damage compared to the drake sword and my herbs will run out in the next couple of tries, damn you blight town... damn you to hell!!!

Why does everybody hate/compare games to other games. Dark Souls is hardly comparable to skyrim because they aren't really the same type of game at all. The gameplay mechanics are almost completely different. I got this for ps3 because I had demon souls on ps3(obviously). And I will most likely be getting skyrim for the 360 unless it has multiple discs. If you all consider yourselves gamers, you should care about the games, not which console is better. If you're here to hate stfu and gtfo.

@dahemAliasReOpened You only get a certian # of casts per spell. The stronger the spell is, the less casts you get. You can refill your spell casts every time u rest at a bonfire.

dark souls > skyrim. Skyrim is a bug ridden mess can't even play it in third person due to the diagonal walking looking rediculous (like ice skating) the combat is casual the difficulty is casual, all you do is a bunch of fetch quests and by the end of the game you feel like....what was the point? dark souls will you give you satisfaction sense of Acheivement, feeling like a BOSS. also has multiplayer k thx
