This is B-Wings, of course, but you're playing the original one, which was on arcade machines. The NES port is awesome, with its memorable soundtrack and snazzy, 80's palette choices.
And what the fuck were you expecting in 1984? This game was great then. By the way you are showing the arcade version, that is Battle Wings. B-Wings is the famicom one, which is much better, with a bigger screen and more power ups. At last, what's with your retarded voice?
A classic game doesn't always have to match Legend of Zelda. I liked this game as much as Gradius: It was the first SHMUP I played that involved actual strategy instead of the "shoot them till they die" approach.
NES version was differnt but definatly not the best that the NES had to offer. Games like Zanic, Gradius, Abodox were much, much better than the NES B-Wings but I have to agree that the NES port of this game was far better than the orignal Arcade title.
I don't have much experience with SHMUP titles so I'm confident that there are better ones for the NES than B-Wings. But to associate B-Wings with "extreme badness" as the description states is going too far imho. But yes, it wasn't an amazing game by any stretch of the imagination but it wasn't a bad game either.
Ghost Pilots? The ship looks like it goes fairly fast. If you want a shmup that's too slow, check out Gun N' Frontier, one of my favs but the thing I dislike it's the ship is uber slow.
Will do captin! Ghost pilots ship is slow but the main problem is that it's really under powered which is a very deadly combonation specialy just after dying on the later levels.
To answer your question Mineblade, no I recorded the footage first using FRAPS then I recorded my review afterwards using Microsoft Moive Maker which comes free with XP's Service Pack #2.
I hope that was helpful to you and thanks for watching my video!
The only thing awful soundwise is your annoying voice.

B-Wings, Poorest Shmup Ever Made?
NO. IT IS NOT.
This game's all about strategy.
Also, by the looks of things, you're playing a clone and not the parent rom. I can tell by the BG colour and the enemies that appear.

Loks like 1 of those early 80's throwaway shmups made by UPL.

This game is awful?!? I totally disagree! For an NES game it was actually worth playing twice, and the same cannot be said for 80% of them.
