Nice riding but I would be a little concerned with only wearing tennis shoes and not riding boots. The still at :26 shows you almost dragging a toe in the lean. Wouldn't want to do that with tennies. when your on a crotch rocket do you weight the outside peg when cornering? like your hitting a burm on a track? or is there more then enough traction and its really not necessary
when hitting a corner hard enough to drag knee or at least get a good lean your body should be hanging off the bike at which point you have no weight to put on the outer peg nor would you want it since your hanging off to put your weight on the inside.
Putting weight on the outside peg will give you bad body positioning and the bike will lean more than needed for a given corner.
Mate, that is bad advice, and you should know it! You've obviously never heard of the term 'pivot steering'. The video gave me a good laugh though. This is obsession with 'getting your knee down', as though slider wear is directly proportional to skill level has me pissing myself. Fast road riding is about keeping things smooth. You wont see many knees down at the Isle of Man. John McGuinness is fast Heather, you're not!!
Your right I've never heard "pivot steering" and I grew up around bikes before I could even ride a bicycle. But my advice is sound, hanging off reduces the lean angle of the bike thus keeping the bike more upright and leaving more traction available. But feel free to remain upright while the bike leans beneath you because your scared of it, you'll make corners nice and slow. I will say getting knee down is amateur at best, if your good you know how far you can lean nor do you need to prove it.
You say that until you catch a pothole and high tail yourself into an on-coming truck. A real rider not only has skill but control, including the ability to control the squid desire to drag knee on the street.
Hmmm... given the circumstances, I don't think that would happen. If you're dragging knee... you're pretty near the limits of the bike's traction capabilities. So, if you hit a pothole and open up the throttle... the bike will loose what little traction it still has to the rear wheel, and you'll most likely end up low-siding and sliding off the road... hardly a catastrophic crash. Unless, of course, you need to slide through the oncoming lane (with traffic) to get off the road...
Unless you catch a hard part on the pot hole, in which case you'll high side. Draggin knee on the street is like not wearing gear, you can get away with either but for only so long at which time you'll wish you weren't so stupid (assuming your still alive to do so) because really what's the reason you have to drag knee on the street or go gearless? Ego? Ego isn't a good enough reason for me to accept the risk.

when your on a crotch rocket do you weight the outside peg when cornering? like your hitting a burm on a track? or is there more then enough traction and its really not necessary

when hitting a corner hard enough to drag knee or at least get a good lean your body should be hanging off the bike at which point you have no weight to put on the outer peg nor would you want it since your hanging off to put your weight on the inside.
Putting weight on the outside peg will give you bad body positioning and the bike will lean more than needed for a given corner.
So the simple answer is no you don't.

Mate, that is bad advice, and you should know it! You've obviously never heard of the term 'pivot steering'. The video gave me a good laugh though. This is obsession with 'getting your knee down', as though slider wear is directly proportional to skill level has me pissing myself. Fast road riding is about keeping things smooth. You wont see many knees down at the Isle of Man. John McGuinness is fast Heather, you're not!!

Your right I've never heard "pivot steering" and I grew up around bikes before I could even ride a bicycle. But my advice is sound, hanging off reduces the lean angle of the bike thus keeping the bike more upright and leaving more traction available. But feel free to remain upright while the bike leans beneath you because your scared of it, you'll make corners nice and slow. I will say getting knee down is amateur at best, if your good you know how far you can lean nor do you need to prove it.

Hmmm... given the circumstances, I don't think that would happen. If you're dragging knee... you're pretty near the limits of the bike's traction capabilities. So, if you hit a pothole and open up the throttle... the bike will loose what little traction it still has to the rear wheel, and you'll most likely end up low-siding and sliding off the road... hardly a catastrophic crash. Unless, of course, you need to slide through the oncoming lane (with traffic) to get off the road...

Unless you catch a hard part on the pot hole, in which case you'll high side. Draggin knee on the street is like not wearing gear, you can get away with either but for only so long at which time you'll wish you weren't so stupid (assuming your still alive to do so) because really what's the reason you have to drag knee on the street or go gearless? Ego? Ego isn't a good enough reason for me to accept the risk.

Dude your freaking retarded. You must not know a thing about riding bikes, or you wouldn't be saying some of the things that you are saying. I have been riding for 5 years now and been dragging knees for the past 2 years and have a lot of friends who do track days and have told me a lot and showed me a lot. I know that even if your dragging you knee you are not at your most extreme limit yet. You still have plenty of tire left under you and can go further.

If your not pushing the limit while dragging knee then you suck plain and simple. Either your forcing your knee to reach the ground or your body positioning is all jacked up. Regardless the street is not a track, people who are draggin knee on the street make up majority of the riding season's motorcycle accidents.

thats right. Dragging your knee is really the way to gauge how much clearance you have so you dont drag your exhaust....its used to tell where you are in your lean.....and not to drag your knee through the whole corner. Ive seen guys lean way the hell off their bikes just to drag, when they could lean so much more. And seen guys not sticking their knee out and leaned way over.
