@Gracie76028 Kerri Strug was her name. And it wasn't a broken foot, she had a sprained ankle and two torn ligaments. Talk about tough!

Vera Caslavska's country (the Czech Republic) was occupied by the Soviets, and people suffered there. So while on the Olympic podium as the Soviet anthem played, Caslavska looked down and to the right the whole time. She did this while accepting all of her gold medals.

Really nice. The only change I might make is putting in the Gutsu-Miller battle instead of just Gutsu by herself. That thing was epic ang I believe Gutsu only won by like 0.0012 and people will still debate it to this day.

Gutsu was not a "substitute"! her coach cheated to get her into the aa!

That's exactly right....it was supposed to be Rosa Galyeva....not sure of the spelling...she won fair and square but the coaches pulled her out saying she was injured...SHE WAS NOT!! The even considered pulling Svetlana Bouginskaya out but they feared it would cause too much of a scandal!! Always politically motivated...and still is today. It was gold or nothing!!
