Trade Pokemon Using VisualBoy Advance Link 1.8 with no connection error

When i download the vba link and try to open the sapphire zip file , the vba screen just turns white & says "Loaded Battery" & the game doesnt turn on. What do i do ? can anyone help me?

To anyone getting "the other trainer appears unavailable" ... What fixed this for me was when running the two VBAs, instead of having one or the other maximized, I clicked on the desktop so they are both in the background. You should still be able to control both of them just fine, but now they will be synced. I also copied my VBA folder and made two different short cuts so I could set different controls for each. If there's an easier way to do this please let me know.

wooot it works, just follow the instructions under the vid and remeber to "export save" your original game and Import the game with the new emulator.

The link is corrupted it will make you able to trade but will delete all your saved games so unless you dont mind starting over again i suggest you dont download it

If that happens switch one of the VBAs you are trading with back to "Pause when Inactive Window" and proceed to trade (note that the one you switched on "Pause when Inactive Window" will mostly like get a communication error as you try to leave however the game will save it immediately after the Trade is successful so you'll still have the Traded pokemon in both games

it works fine. got the same freezing problem on the first few tries but it works.

problems seems to arise when both VBAs want to join or become the leader of the connection

so to avoid that make both VBAs controls different. and control them manually during connection

to remove the "Corrupted save thingy".

>Change Emulator-Save_Type-Flash 64k and MAKE IT 128k.

ADDED some notes on the directions above.

- uncheck > Emulator-Pause when inactive window

- check > Link-Wireless Adapter

Thank you! It took me a while to grasp it, but I did it! Now all I have to master is the connection between Sapphire and Fire Red. I have beaten Elite Four in Sapphire and made the network machine fully operational in Fire Red. I wonder if I need anything else.

i played fire red on a different emulator and only then realised i need this emulator to trade. When i try to load my save states from my first emulator on to this emulator they cant be opened. I want to trade pokemons i already have, not to start a new game. Can you help me?

@stinger131996 First you have to be able to view the file extension of the saves (but usually you can see it by default since it is an unknown file type). Then you would simply change the file extension to either .sa1 (for regular game save) or .sg1 (for save states) and just hit ok for the message saying that the file may become unusable. Also make sure the file name is the SAME as the game file name for .sa1 files, and it is the game file name with a 1 on the end for .sg1 (ex: Fire Red1.sg1).

@vickyferta1 What's not responding, the game or the emulator? Which emulator did you use before this? If you didn't use visualboy before, then maybe you can't use your previous saves after all. I used visualboy before this and changing the extensions worked fine for me. :/

I believe that for the Fire Red and Leaf Green versions, you need to finish the plot with the sapphire on Sevii Islands before you can trade Pokemon with other versions.

@polipag4 VBAL is not compatible with Red/Blue, Gold/Silver. Go to google and type in TGB Dual. That's what you're looking for.

@Smacken1995 On both VBA's go to Options----> Emulator-----------> And uncheck Pause when inactive on both. Then just move around and they should both move. So you don't get confused you should have both your players in the same spot on both roms.
