  • GREAT HAIR!!

  • Have you ever heard of Static-X?

  • How is oak as a choise of wood? I made a hole bunch a year ago by takeing the chunks of charcoal out of a dying fire and puting them in a sealed metal can to cool down. There wasn't any ash contamination. It made some good black powder.

  • How long did you cook it for?

  • @MrLeonard55 For like an hour and a half but it really doesn't matter just wait until the smoke spraying out the top starts to stop that will give you the best charcoal.

  • @IAmTheSkinMan when i looked at you i thought-punk. But thats just a street assumption. It turns out you are a man with essential knowldege, that is really valuable to blacksmiths

  • You can burn those off gases, you know. Turn the inner can upsidedown and those gasses will burn.

  • Excellent vid. Thank you.

  • Is that wood was dry?

  • @LinardsHunteR Yes, but it doesn't have to be as long as its not soaking wet. Freshly chopped wood can be used

  • This is rather kewl. Thank you for showing this.

  • @IAmTheSkinMan lol soz but it really grts me stressed oh and thnx for the vid very helpful( couldn't fit that into th last rant)

  • lolz

    charcoal iis in minecraft

  • nice hair

  • Not only can we use charcoal to make gun powder.Charcoal can be use to filter water

  • That was pretty neat. Thanks.

  • Too expensive, though it depends on the materials available to you.Nice try

  • @IAmTheSkinMan I have my rual land, 60 feet deep of red sticky clay, on 20 acars, dam red crap, if only there was a use for it, there are big hills on the land as well, all red clay

  • @IAmTheSkinMan I must have 50 or more unuseable 45 gallon steel drums out back, as well as 30 or 40 250 gallon out dated fuel oil tanks, up here the oil tanks have to be changed every 10 years on home oil heating tanks, witch is dumb, but thats how it is up here, so every customer we change there oil tank, it ends up out back, I have cut some in half with a cutting torch for rock stone boats for people.

  • there musrt be a faster way to make large amounts of it, that small paint can would take for ever to make a good supply fast, being i have to truck coal over 1800 miles and it is har to find a B-train truck to bring it to Thunder Bay On. Canada from western BC

  • @arnoldcustom I'm trying to find an old steel drum with a lid but they are hard to come by as I don't want to buy a new one just to burn it.. A clay furnace would work but the clay I have access to doesn't respond well to heat and it degrades the purity of the coal because of soil, rocks, ect.

  • Nice, how many batches can you do with a single tank of propane?

  • @PyroPortrayal Im sure you can make many, I've left the heater on for many hours with out it running out so im sure that many batches can be produced.

  • @IAmTheSkinMan can i use any wood and still have good coal for bp mini cannons

  • Did you make a second one?

  • you said you were going ot make another video with charcoal making?

  • @flamedrag18 Eventually, I have less time to do anything pyro related Because of school and work so when I can get the material I will start making the tutorial.

  • Comment removed

  • @86333able Then just buy it. propane is cheaper that Pyro grade charcoal,

  • dose it have active carbon

  • would a $5 hot plate from a garage sell work?

  • @sociopathpsych sure it would work but the can will have to be rotated often, an alternate method would just be to start a fire around the can with wood scrapes or BBQ charcoal.

  • How do you turn it into a powder?

  • @pbylina You can either grind it up in a ball mill or in a mortor, it helps to roughly crush it up in a bucket with a bat or wooden plank.

  • @pbylina u can also use siccors but it takes longer

  • Awesome video, thanks! I had always stripped the bark from the willow wood I used first... is this necessary?

  • @btdk34 yes, the bark is not really suitable for pyrotechnic use.

  • can you use paper instead of wood? and if you can, can you get decent results?

  • @awesomeguy11111 I've never tried using paper so I don't know the properties of powder made with it, since it is very porus I would expect good results. using paper it would propably take less time to cook than wood.

  • can you do this over a wood cooker?- like just over a normal fire?

  • @sohy3010 Yes that would work.

  • Can u us a small tin can and thos petroleum campfire can things to bern th wood even if it's not really good quality

  • @Flycarlos505 Yes that would work.

  • thanks alot for making this

  • charcoal gives you cancer :)

  • Can you do this with "green" wood?

  • @atcnick The wood would have to be cooked a little longer to remove excess moisture but green wood should work just fine.

  • what about Potassium nitrate lol

  • what would happend if you used paper instead of wood making charcoal?

  • @Aqlor I have never tried using paper but I have heard of people having success with it, Im assuming that it will work however im not completely sure of the quality of the product produced, its worth trying.

  • O cool a tornado just knocked over half a dozen pine trees in my back yard yipee!

  • I thought this is the tutorial how to make charcoal in minecraft lol...

  • haha where i live we have willow and pine in our backyard.

  • @flamingrecon42 Your lucky, I have to find willow!

  • @IAmTheSkinMan i know move up to colorado around 7000 feet above sea level and its everywhere.wild.

  • I took the left over black, burnt wood from my fireplace, chopped it up in a coffee grinder, and ball milled it. Is this charcoal and will it work in a bp composition?

  • @pyroboy571 It should work fine if its dry or light weight

  • @hondarider1499 liquid tar is no longer a gas.

  • @zakamooza The charcoal?

  • Comment removed

  • Now in theroy, couldn't you condense the wood gas (vapors) and turn it into a wood (gas) liquid? Almost like a distillation? Would it work?

  • @icefire1911 Yes, you could save the coal tar if you add a spiral copper tube and run water around it like a distill. I don't know what the uses for the coal tar would be though, possably a wood preservative?

  • Ehm.. Actually you take the can with wood in off the fire AFTER the smoke and fire has disappeared. You need to wait until no more steam, smoke OR fire is showing out of the container.

  • @pyr0ph1L A small amount Tar in the wood benefits combustion to a small degree, especially in pine.

  • teehee you look like Casper off kids.

  • hey , can you tell me what wood is the best for black powder and what wood is the best for stars , thankss

  • @TheMosh97 willow seems to be the best for Black powder and pine is the best for stars

  • @IAmTheSkinMan what about balsa wood ?

  • @TheMosh97 that works too

  • @TheMosh97 where is the Charcoal used for ?

  • @zakamooza Black powder, star formulas

  • @IAmTheSkinMan thanks , but how do you turn it into a fine powder . ?

  • @zakamooza I ball mill it.

  • omg can you turn into a super saiyan?

  • nice :D

  • Is that an ordinary camping stove ?

  • Comment removed

  • The Suit

  • @ThisShouldntHappen Indeed...

  • So after the steam, woodgas is coming out of the holes in the can? So you could burn that if you harnessed it right?

  • @schwig44 You could but when it cools down it has a tendency to condense

  • lol

  • @DJE3394 Why?

  • Excellent vid!

  • Nice!
