My MP-2 was doing the same thing but all I had to do was unplug the display cables from the PCB board, clean the contacts and plug it back in. Now it's steady like new.
Hopefully yours is also a simple fix too!

@thedesertdweller It worked! I used DeoxIT-D5 to clean the pins on the main board connector. No more flickering now! :)
