With the Remastering of the Original Series we are Finally seeing the Enterprise for the First Time, and she is Beautiful. This is what we should have seen in the First place. All she needs and what is missing is her Blue Lighting on the inboard of her Main Engines and the Front Illumination of the forward part of her Engineering Hull.
A Legend has to be respected and given what should already be apart of her Design and Construction.
@Roadracer987654321 ...What? We saw it just fine in the original episodes. The reason for the CGI effects is the original effects did not turn out well in the new conversion. Thats the only reason.
@OpenMawProductions I've met some of the actors from the Original Series and the Next Generation. I also chatted with some of the Special Effects people from all the shows in person. Ya ain't telling me anything I don't already know. I saw Star Trek : The Motion Picture on opening day in late Morning. Little did I know at the Time I was seeing the Rebirth of a Saga .It also was the beginning of a new Era in Trek, a show Once Thought and which was indeed Quite Dead Productionwise.
I thought CBS did the remastering but I've never seen the remastered show broadcasted on CBS. But then again, I don't watch TV match so I don't have cable. Still, I've never even any TV advertisements for the remastered show...thank god for youtube.
"'I thought CBS did the remastering but I've never seen the remastered show broadcasted on CBS."
Just to clarify, it's CBS Digital who did the remastering, and it is *syndicated* through CBS/Paramount, but when it is syndicated it can go to anyone in the local markets who buys the rights for it. It doesn't have to be on CBS necessarily when it's "syndicated." Go to trekmovie dot com for local airtimes and show times :)
I´d rather say the "S*** will hit the fan". This CGI thing just doesn´t work. You can´t have perfect (and fake) CGI models and smooth movements mixing with old footage with all those imperfections. Looks like two totally different things.
Next thing we´ll see will be "A trip to the moon" by Georges Méliès with "enhanced" FX.
I agree. The "remastered" things still don't look lifelike(compare them to ENT's CGI) and so it overall makes it look fake and overdone. You watch TOS because of the stories and characters, NOT the SFX.
The remastered version doesn't just change the look of the ship, it enhances the color and gives a bit of a sharper image. Not sure about better audio quality, but they did improve it digitally from the original version.
Stupid line. It's supposed to mean that the Enterprise would face serious dangers, but a bad way to put it. Another stupid line in Underdog ads "ONe nation under dog" I bet those clowns think they were clever.
The music of this trailer sounds familiar to me, but I can´t remember where I heared it before. Can anyone help. P.S. sorry for my bad english (if there are any mistakes !? )
There's nothing to 'correct' about the sets. Colorful design is not equal to low tech. They simply have a different design sense in the 23rd Century than we have today. It's a choice of paint color - it doesn't mean those colorful rooms aren't made out of super-hyper-alloy and micromolecular computers.
CGI with crap sets wiill not be a good combination. Modern technology with paper planetary sets, for surface, sky... Will they correct whole sets with CGI? Sure not, since would take milions and milions...
Wow its like Star Trek but with all the charm and heart removed!

I can't believe they ended it with that phrase. What eleven-year-old scripted THAT one?!?!

Guess they wanted it to show the fans how "serious" they are about the project... Or what?

The ship hits the fans? This kind of cheesy writing makes you realize the last two letters of CBS!

CGI and retro is a working combination. Star Trek New Voyages is proof of that.

Not at all. Enterprise's "In a Mirror Darkly" worked beautifully bridging the gap. But this doesn't look as good as Defiant did, oddly enough.
