  • No the driver waved to tell you to get off of the road!

  • @WubSoof You're probably right! LOL

  • Can you even have that color on your bike? Doesn't say any thing in the law just say you need a red on back and white on front. But bet cop would bit** at you any way for it :\ i got two small ones on front of my bike i use sometimes. Also have copy of the bike laws on me to and a good story planed out :P Got like 8 lights on my bike over all i look like a cop how my bike is set up.

  • @LoveReflectiveTape Flashing amber may actually be a violation in CA. I not longer use it and just stick to flashing white.

  • the driver waved to thank me for being so visible!

There is a name for your mental delusion, cant think of it off the top of my head.

  • @MrHobiecat ROTFLMAO! Thanks for the finger snap. I'm not out of the trance. :-D

  • @AllBentUp years ago when I got my first motorcycle, one of my older friends told me the one thing that will keep you alive is to ALWAYS ride as if you are totally invisible. Ride as if the cars CANT see you and you have to sneak your way though traffic

I have a flashing white front lite & flashing red tail lite on my 'bent, and its always on when I ride on the streets. If a car sees you 2 seconds sooner, it can make all the difference. I call them my two second lights.

    Nice video BTW.

  • i got good eyes but i couldn't see any amber light

  • Bahhh, just install the SHO-ME amber or white leds on your bike, day or night, you WILL be seen out to a mile.

  • @RacerXGTO LOLOL What about the sirens? All I need is a good 12V 5AH onboard power source and f*ck the vehicle traffic. :-D

  • @AllBentUp Sirens will probably guarantee you get more than a stern talking to by the cops, you may want to skip that option. Of course, this is only a suggestion ;-p

Add a 12V mini-lead battery with a bike wheel generator to keep the battery charged and you could keep your LED's going for quite a while.

  • what was your bike ?

  • @asykarthewise Bacchetta Aero

  • wat type of bke u got ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! (0:35)

  • @StuntMadd Bacchetta Aero, racing recumbent.

  • I'm not a recumbent fan but after seeing this vid from the riders perspective I think I could become one.

  • @SmokeDiverFF I ride racing recumbents because they're so damn much fun and the people around Long Beach respond well . I still ride a regular racing bike when in a group. Recumbents for me are for solo riding.

  • @SmokeDiverFF I ride both types of bikes and enjoy the recumbents for speed and comfort.

  • @morrisburger1

Actually, because of the way our visual system works, the most visually salient or noticeable stimuli changes with lighting conditions. Under broad daylight or "photopic" lighting conditions, colours in the yellow-red end of the spectrum are highly salient. Conversely, these colours appear dim at night during "mesopic" conditions when compared to colours in the blue-green end of the colour spectrum. This phenomenon is known as the "Purkinje Shift".

  • @rramkhal Interesting information. Thanks!

  • I think the driver waved to apologize for getting onto your lane :)

  • @sponnsor Yes. Drivers are really more courteous than we give them credit for.

  • @sponnsor yup, poor driver.

  • Good idea.

  • But is it Legal?? I know it is not in most european countries!!

  • Thanks for share...

  • i bought this light and LOVE IT!!

it's so bright that sometimes i feel guilty (ha ha) about blinding peds/ other bikers along the beach trail ... for riding in the street i dim to a lower setting

  • Great news! Let people know you're coming.

  • Nice video. Do you have any recommendations on front headlights during the night.

  • I like the DiNotte white LED headlights for night riding. Thanks

  • shit I would of given them the finger.

  • I know the feeling. Out here in LA they run your ass down and squash you with their SUV like some cockroach or just shoot you. Then they sue you. Sucks, doesn't it?

  • I use an amber Dinotte, too- I ride daily through urban traffic (Memphis TN)-- I think the Dinotte amber light helps make me visible sooner-- motorists see amber as a warning light, so I think they pick it up in their visual field as something they need to react to instead of something they need to ignore.

  • I feel the same way although I'm not really sure whether it's more effective than the white light in flashing mode.

  • Lights generally don't work for me... seems they see it and can't judge how fast you are traveling and cut you off at the last second. I just upgraded to an airhorn for those occasions when needed, and still use my dyno hub all day and all night

  • May I ask what the advantages are, if any, of using an amber light as opposed to a red light during the day.

    Gerry

  • Gerry - Amber is for the front only and it's also more visible to the human eye than white during daylight.

  • If it was flashing Blue they would really pay attention.

  • So would the coppers and the jig would be up!

  • PoiterH asked me earlier whether that was my house on the left. I didn't know how to tell him this, I'll just say it: "That's actually just the servant's quarter's for Sputnick's winter house". You need an ultralight just to fly over and catch a glimpse of Sputnick's actual winter home.
