Oasis really haven't changed all that much since the late 90s. There is a reason why critics claim they have become a parody of themselves. I think they peaked too early with What's The Story Morning Glory and were never able to create anything quite as groundbreaking with later albums. Although that sounds like I'm being really negative, I still think they are brilliant. But I'm not some sort of music fan who can't admit the flaws of his favorite bands.
Oasis are amazing, but to act like Blur aren't at least on a similar level of greatness is just ridiculous. They were one of the most innovative bands of the 90s and have produced some amazing music. I can understand someone liking one band more than the other, but acting like one was complete garbage compared to the other is laughable. It is like arguing with a 12 year old or something when you talk in such extremes.
Both are amazing bands. I think Blur took more risks with their sound, while Oasis were slightly more consistent in quality. I'd probably put Blur slightly above Oasis, just because they were so creative, while Oasis failed to evolve over time.

I listen to both bands and all albums. BLUR is better in terms of innovation and quality of music, their albums are different from each other. Oasis had 2 good albums (their first ones) but then, all sounds and songs are similar like the old ones; it's like to listen to "What's the Story..." with 50 tracks. More & more of the same..

okay, so i think blur are by far the better band. oasis have some really good tunes, their older stuff is much better then the stuff they release now, it seems to be watered down version of it.

Oasis are my personal favourite. I don't mind Blur - I like 5 or 6 tracks by them, but I think Oasis' back catalogue speaks for itself: Wonderwall, Live Forever, Don't Look Back In Anger, Champagne Supernova, Rock 'n' Roll Star, Slide Away, The Masterplan, Morning Glory, Cast No Shadow, Don't Go Away, D'you Know What I Mean?, Gas Panic!, Roll It Over, The Importance Of Being Idle, I'm Outta Time, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Roll With It, Rockin' Chair, Whatever, Acquiesce, Supersonic...plus more

Oasis really haven't changed all that much since the late 90s. There is a reason why critics claim they have become a parody of themselves. I think they peaked too early with What's The Story Morning Glory and were never able to create anything quite as groundbreaking with later albums. Although that sounds like I'm being really negative, I still think they are brilliant. But I'm not some sort of music fan who can't admit the flaws of his favorite bands.

Oasis are amazing, but to act like Blur aren't at least on a similar level of greatness is just ridiculous. They were one of the most innovative bands of the 90s and have produced some amazing music. I can understand someone liking one band more than the other, but acting like one was complete garbage compared to the other is laughable. It is like arguing with a 12 year old or something when you talk in such extremes.

Both are amazing bands. I think Blur took more risks with their sound, while Oasis were slightly more consistent in quality. I'd probably put Blur slightly above Oasis, just because they were so creative, while Oasis failed to evolve over time.

Right! For a start, the whole argument is bollocks!! The Blur, Oasis "war" was nothing more than a music industry money spinning excercise. They are TOTALLY different bands, you cannot compare them. Oasis are a one trick pony but a damn good one - they rock and don't need to change direction. Blur were restless, not content to stick to the same style and were not frightend to change direction - sometimes radically. IMO Blur's real rivals were Suede, not Oasis

Almost all Oasis' singles are ballads.
I listen to both bands and all albums. BLUR is better in terms of innovation and quality of music, their albums are different from each other. Oasis had 2 good albums (their first ones) but then, all sounds and songs are similar like the old ones; it's like to listen to "What's the Story..." with 50 tracks. More & more of the same..

Yeah well Blur's no different, Charmless Man, Colin Zeal and Tracy Jacks are all virtually the same song three times. All bands repeat their themes. Blur flogged to death the theme of monotony. Which when u think about it is ironic. Dont you think? Yeah I really do think, it's like raaaaain, woops sorry.

Mmm but those are songs from 3 consecutive years. But you can note the difference among The Great Escape, Blur, 13 and Think Tank. There's an evolution. Oasis' songs are similar from the beginning, it's like listening to "What the story..." with 50 tracks until "Don't believe the truth" (themes are almost similar) and bad :S
Listening to BONE BAG, BEARD (jazz) or ULTRANOL.. those are real good songs (and B-Sides)
