for me.. magic jack works really great, and i live in santo domingo, Dominican Rep. and i had call to n.y., atlanta, miami and a friend in toronto and is like a normal phone.. without noise and no choppy.

MJ works, all you have to do is install it on an old computer with winXP SP2, install the fix software on MJ website, and thats it. I called all over the US, and a couple times to Canada and it works. I have a sister who had a lot of trouble with one on her windows vista comp. so i took her MJ and pluged it into my laptop(2 1/2 yrs old) and it worked, right in front of her face. put it back in her comp., and it did not work right.

it might be only $19.95 a year but your electicity bill will be around $30 more from leave your computer on 24/7. so not really a savings

I have a customer that tried to get me to use it because he's so happy with the calls, and he calls only 90% of Long Distance and around the world with it.

Just Goten the Magicjack Already inlove with it works I Have called maybe about 6 people and had very Good quality i have had one problem last night when i closed my laptop Lid the phone became Choppy but that okay just wont closed the lid easy and simple If vonage did not work for me and was always Choppy. im very Suprise the magicjack works i do have suckie internet but good pc and i have sp3 working Fine already made my dession on keeping it

Windows XP Service Pack 3. Besure you keep Service Pack 2. Still there is no guarantee that the magicJack will work for you. In my opinion buy Magic Jack at your own risk.

Magic Jack is a piece of junk. I just filed a complaint with the BBB and FTC. This is the info on the company incase anyone needs it. The BBB has rated this company an F-

Don't expect an exchange after 30 days, unless you put in 2-3 hours doing the same old trouble shooting again and again with their tech dept., so warranty is worthless. Okay for part time, back-up use only, never for primary line.

people don't understand but you need a good computer not just the internet so what if your internet speed in like 2mb/s you cpu needs to be at least 2.1ghz or faster and 1gig of ram cant have a slow as computer?

Im really interested N da Magic Jack cuz $19 a year iz nuthin! Wow. Datz awesum... But I dont like da fact dat U cant talk to a live customer service person! Their tech support system sux! I dont want to talk to a computer. I wood get 1 N a heart beat if i cood only talk 2 a real live customer service person. Anythg cood happen and there's no 1 to call! When dat changes...Ill buy 1. Az 4 now ill try T-Mobles $10 a month deal.

I guess there are some bad units out there. Mine worked so well for my parents in Jamaica that I ordered another fo replace my Verizon land line. This replacement unit needed some tweaking (using the magic fix update). I have noticed that the unit works better hard wired (plugged into a wired pc), than wireless and also better with Windows XP in comparison to Vista. But overall, I am happy with magic jack.

I would like to see the demonstration done again on long distance with a cordless phone. I noticed she is using a corded phone and MANY reviews I've found by googling online stated the static was eliminated by switching to a decent quality cordless phone.

Mine worked for less than 3 months. I contacted magic jack and no response. My magic jack says Magic Jack Defective, please contact support. But their customer support has a lot be desired. I wont recommend MJ based on my experience.

I use it from The Republic of Korea to the States from AZ to FL. I have a high speed T1 Internet connection and I use either a USB headset or a cheap cordless phone. Sounds really good as long as I don't have too much running on my computer. I recommend this product to anyone with older people who are still paying to call them long distance or people who travel overseas and want a cheap way to communicate with the states and not miss a thing.
