  • Shelf clouds are normally deeper than that cloud, it sort of looks like they were near the end of a roll cloud, they have to end somewhere, but, what was that little thing that was moving around under the big cloud?

  • @jjaguar707 I was standing inside behind a glass door when I was filming this and there were a few water droplets on the window. I think that is what you are seeing move around under the big cloud (I shifted around while filming).

  • SLC's

  • There are dozens of storm spotter classes through out the early spring. If you take a class they will show you what to look for and also what is and isnt considered severe, a wall cloud, or funnel clouds. Clouds rising do not not mean there is rotation. Most storms have a little cloud fragment rotation at one point or another. What are looking at a is a shelf cloud at the leading edge of the storm. Funnel clouds do not come from the leading edge. They come from behind the rain area.

  • Just some scary looking clouds. Nothing to be worried about.

  • i remember this it got really dark somewhere in the morning but yes it did

  • I slept through this storm LOL

  • Neat video. You're probably looking at what's called a shelf cloud. Shelf clouds form at the leading edge of lines of storms. The rising clouds you talk about towards the end are called scud clouds, and let you know that there is an updraft in that area (does not mean there is rotation).

  • @mesocyclone Can't really see the whole cloud, but it could be a roll cloud too?
