But I've already seen the Horrors live and fortunately the crowd was so much better! By the way, they're amazing in concerts! You need to see them live once! :)
@TheMrHuzzah Oh ok. Yeah, i have logic on my macbook, so i use that + my usb keyboard as a synth.
Go to dolphinmusic dot co dot uk and look up the horrors complete gear guide. It sounds to me like they use a microkorg, and ableton live on a laptop. Hope it helps!
faris looks wrecked!!! <3 He is so feckin beautiful though that i dont care. this is my fave song at the minute...... i love with primary colours that every week i love a different song...... never gonna get bored of that album <3
The Horrors care about their music more than most bands I know of, this is prime if you want to make good rock and roll music, The Horrors are fantastic.
@westcoastdoldrums A fellow connoisseur of audio minutiae I see. The phasing on the album is spinetingling, here it's inaudible. A 'word' at the mixing desk often yields rewards, try it. An outsider tasked with mixing will be ignorant of each track's nuances. Best neo-goth band ever!
I think the whole Genre was about the sound and the music itself rather then the performance, much like taking a more melancholy and gothic aproach to what grunge bands did. Because it's all about the music, performance wasn't prioritised. I don't mind this at all though, it sounds good and that's why I listen to it.
This song reminds me of bands like joy division. If you notice it has the same baseline through verse, chorus, bridge etc just like the ol' joy division but thats what makes it classic. They just change the guitar, sythn parts for the chorus. I hate all these band with dooh, dah, bum, boom, bam, bah, dooh, dah bass lines changing every 2 seconds lol.
can everyone stop asaying this sounds like joy division; its a great fucking band but really? compare it to like disorder or shadowplay fuckin hell do any of u know wt joy division sounds like! and the sound is way too thick, only like a few joy division songs sound even a lil bit like the horrors i.e atrocity exhibition coz of the effects use but apart from those few! FUCK OFF with ur damn joy division comparisons. They are a brilliant band without u tarnishing their image with joy division
the strokes practically INVENTED modern indie music, without them there would be no Libertines and no Arctic Monkeys, The music world would actually have died...at worst case scenario.
*rant over*
I love this song iys deinately their best I think along with maybe 'she is the new thing' and 'I cant control myself'
HAHA, seriously! The Strokes have been one of my favorite bands since I was in 6th grade! It's like, UM,...they're the reason for a lot of these 'indie' bands people listen to now a days, in my opinion.
Fuck, Kings of Leon wouldn't have half of the cred they have now...if it weren't for the Strokes, if you really think about it.
I want to see them live SO bad, I hope they come to LA soon! XD
They sound nothing like Joy Division. Sure there are influences but there are much more striking features. People only pick joy division because It's their way of identifying with a band that they already know are both good, an influence and a way of demeaning anything contemporary.
i said the new album is a homage to joy division for quite a while, please im not the only one thinking it. good to see the band can evolve its music and still sound good.
this live performance is amazing, there new album is really refreshing and super good. I think this new album is an example of a band that evolves greatly.
I watched this video after watching a live video of Jack the Ripper - wow have their performances changed! I adore both their styles but I wish Faris would have a bit more energy here; he's supposed to be carrying the song but he's kind of ruining it's dreamlike, airy feel. Still awesome though, but could be better, in my opinion.
i agree that faris does sound a bit flat, but i guess that the fact that faris doesnt go mad on stage, fits in with their new look and sound. But both albums are amazing still <3

@arthurdubois1 i dunno the precise pedals, but for sure he´s using some kind of reverse effect.
